Can anyone recommend a pizza place that would deliver to Windsor Hills, also since its a gated community do they let the pizza driver in or do you have to meet them at the security gate?

Also, what is the closest grocery store to Windsor Hills? Thanks.

tagging along.. need the answers also....i heard goodings has gone down hill. so maybe a close publix

There are certain vendors that are not allowed into Windsor Hills because they have broken major rules, such as leaving brochures in doorways, which is a security issue, and other issues reported by guests. They would have a list at the Guest Services of vendors allowed and not allowed, so can always call or check in with them when you are getting your passes.

March 1st the rule was effective that all owners & guests must advise security on 407-397-1464 if they have ordered food deliveries. They must name the vendor involved & expected time of delivery. People arriving at the gate without the guards prior knowledge & without a local phone number for the home will not be admitted.

So, if they are on the list of permitted vendors, they should deliver your food if you call the Security at the phone number above before delivery.

The Sundry Store is available on site and will make up welcome packages for guests if you call ahead. You can see information on the Windsor Hills official website, www.windsorhillsmaster.com.

The nearest Publix would be on 192 Orange Lake across from Super Target. Make a left on Old Lake Wilson Road out of the resort, make a left on 192, and it is on the right hand side, just a couple of miles. There is also a new Publix in Reunion we like, less than 10 minutes. Make a right out of Windsor Hills on Old Lake Wilson Road, straight shot, cross one highway, on the right. There is also a Papa John's Pizza there we always use, love it! They do deliver, too.

Hope that helps.

Giordono's pizza - yum.

We like the Super Target. I'm not a huge fan of their grocery section but they have a nice selection of Disney themed "stuff" and we usually pick up souveniers at a fraction of the price of "stuff" in the theme parks.

Last trip I tried the "new" Publix down Old Lake Wilson road and it was a lot further than I though it would be. The other Publix and Super Target have to be closer both mileage and travel time - even in fairly heavy traffic.

You're right, that it is 6 miles to the Publix in Reunion, versus 3 miles to the one on 192. The advantage is only one red light and no major highways. However, my DH reminded me that with the construction on Old Lake Wilson Road (widening the lanes there), probably your best bet is to turn left out of the resort and go to the one on 192, as the decreased speed limit will increase your time to the Reunion Publix.

Without the construction, it was taking us about 8 minutes to get to the Publix in Reunion; it takes us anywhere from 6 minutes to 10 minutes to the Publix on 192. Sometimes, though, because we like Papa John's, we will go to the Reunion Publix, stop in Papa John's order our pizza, then do our shopping (buy salad stuff, easy to make, bags!) and then go back to WH and make a quick salad to go with our pizza. Definitely, more choices though out on 192, with Super Target, Walmart (a little further), loads of restaurants, etc.

We actually like Bruno's Italian restaurant a lot, very reasonable and decent food, nice family owned restaurant. It is approximately 1/2 mile past the Publix on the left hand side, so have to make a u-turn, first left past McDonald's. They also deliver to Windsor Hills.

any word on a close dunkin donuts. maybe even a drive thru .dh needs his before mk...

We stayed at Windsor Hills for the past 2 weeks. We ordered pizza from Pizza Hut and then called the guard station to let them know. No problems at all, they delivered right to our door. No need to meet them at the station.

There is a Winn Dixie real close to WH and they have the best frozen pizzas! When you go towards Disney, turn east on 192 and it's on the right hand side of the road in a shopping center. It's not well marked and we found it by accident. It's a small store but has the essentials and like I said the pizza was wonderful. It was nice to buy the frozen pizza, go to our condo, and have a nice hot meal in minutes.
