Pizza by the slice

My biggest problem with corrugated cardboard pizza "boxes" is that the grease tends to soak through them. I guess this new one from Pizza Hut uses "compostable" material like a lot of new plastic-like takeout containers. I don't particularly like cardboard (egg container style) takeout containers since they tend to soak through quickly. But the plasticky compostable containers seem to last long enough without soaking through.

Cardboard also serves to absorb moisture from steam, so the crust doesn't get soggy. The plasticky compostable stuff won't do that. People will be complaining about soggy crust soon enough with that new pizza hut box, unless it has ventilation built into it.

Had Armand's last night. Well done, don't trim. :)

I love Armand's. We lived by the original on North Avenue in Elmwood Park. When I moved out in the early 90's i was so upset that I was living further in the city and they wouldn't deliver!

One of the best days was when we learned they opened locations across city! :)

LOL, crazy - I live about 2 blocks from what you consider the original one. :)

The real original one was at 74th Court and Grand full fledge sit down restaurant. I've been in EP since the 60's, great place.

That's the one I meant, by the old Biancalana's Banquet Hall! And there was a grocery store across the street? This was 70s/80s.

I like Costco pizza. Better than most delivery chain pizza.

One of my favorite el cheapo fast food meals: slice of Costco combo pizza, Costco 1/4 lb beef hot dog and drink. I think it's about $3.75 including tax. Not good for you and wouldn't eat it every day (or every week, maybe every month), but on the junk food scale it's close to maxing out the quantity/quality/price ratio.

You eat the pizza slice and a hot dog? Wow. I can barely finish a slice of pizza.
