Pizza at Trails End?

Best that can be said about TE pizza. It is just ok. Beats Cici's hands down (the obligatory after-baseball game meal in my neck o the woods).

My oldest only eats the crust. Loves it. Hoards them in his pockets and chews on them throughout the night.......like a chipmunk.....

Ah MRE's. We referred to them as Meals Rejected by Everyone in my day (actually, the salty version is Meal Resembles Excr*m*nt......). Potatos "All Rotten", Awful Sauce (apple), Dehydrated pork,beef, potato patties, Dehydrated ketchup & green cheese spread to boot. Always wanted to catch the company that supplied these original MREs and make them eat 3 of them in front of me. C rats were much better (although I only had them for about a year).

Glad to hear the new MREs are better (and TE pizza is still just kinda "feh").....

Current Army regulations do not allow the consumption of 3 MRE's in a day - the fat, sodium and calorie content are just too high. Maximum 2, then the third meal is either mess hall or tray rats.

I agree...the pizza is horrible. I would "take out" the pizza all the time if it was tasty. i just don't see why they dont revamp it. They pay such careful detail to everything else. Why not the pizza??

I have mixed emotions about the pizza. I personally think it is bland, but totally palatable. My DS3 just loves it and will even eat the crust, so what do you do? (I buy it so my son will eat something, he is so picky!)

BTW- I still have some MRE's packed away in the laundry room from Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne. I heard they have an 8 year shelf life?

the pizza at TE is horrible. We make your own pizza on the grill at our site.

I totally agree with the Army regulation!! Thats if the Chow truck can find you!!! We usually did get at least one hot "warm" meal a day. Oh yeah were talking about "Pizza" By the way how do you cook one on your grill???

And how! 3 MREs in a day would be a punishment indeed. I was always a big fan of "pogey bait". Kept my AO nicely stocked whenever possible. I co-located once with the Black Watch regiment (Scotland finest & recently departed I hear......bagpipes..... soccer hooligans.....hard heeds.... oh my.....). They had a rolling commisary that traveled with them wherever they went. Nothing like getting up in the morning in the middle of a god-forsaken desert and buying eggs & bangers and cooking up a nice meal......ah, it's much better than the TE pizza I tell you (nice save Mr Man.....nice save).

I was near an Aussie unit many moons ago and all they brought with them was beer. Come to think about it that was enough.

Nothing goes better with pizza than beer.......

Went to TE in 2005. Pizza or no pizza, we have never had a worse meal anywhere!

We're not a big fan of the pizza either. The kids loved it, but we didn't. It just had a "funny" taste to it. I relate it to McDonalds food. I hate it and the kids love it. But I will say that we stuffed a slice down after a long day when we were really hungry and didn't want to cook.

However, we LOVED breakfast at TE! We had "take out" breakfast and the fruit, gravy biscuits, bacon...all of it was SOOO GOOD!
