Pixos?

DD11 likes crafts and has asked for some for Christmas. I saw Pixos at Target and also noticed they had coupon in the toy book. I don't know anything about these, can you give me any info? There seems to be several different kits. Is there somethings that is a must have? needs some inexpensive gifts TIA

My daughter had these and loved them... I think I just got the kit with the different compartments to hold them and the pen....she had tons of fun

I think she will like them at her age. My 4 year old got them for his Birthday from a relative and it was a bit too advanced for him. He just made a mess with them!

DD9 loves to make them though there's not much you can do with them afterwards. She got the full kit last year -the thing w/the fan & attached pen but the bead dispenser got clogged. I think the pen and some kits would probably work. I don't think the fan is really needed, they just need to dry.

They also carry them at Michael's & I got her a new kit w/one of their 40% off coupons.

My DS likes them. We just have the basic set with the pen. It works pretty well.

DD8 got it for Christmas last year and although she played with it then, it has sat for the whole year unused! Plus she kept knocking the cup over that holds the beads all over the floor ughhhh!

we bought the big kit with the dryer, we also bought a extra pen (to encorage sharing). Its pretty cool, just dont get them too wet or they take forever to dry. The dyer in the kit works but when Big A (10) gets mad (they take awile to dry) she steals the hairdyer (on low it works well). Walmart had some of the extra bead (dot?) kits on clearance this week!

This is the one toy by daughter plays with all the time. She is 13 and still loves it. I bought if for her last Christmas and it's the only toy she still asks for. She has the one with the dryer and the newer one with and arm to it that holds the pixos I think. I buy her refills kits when I see them on sale because you really don't get alot and they are not too cheap. Toys R Us had 2 for $14.99 the other day and they normally run $20.00 each, so that is a good deal.

Here comes the first negative == they are junk!!!! I bought the Pixos pen for DS and it was very frustrating for him. We had beads rolling all over and being placed willy nilly on the pattern grid since they wouldn't come out on the right placement. After he made them they would go in the garbage.
