Pixie Hollow replacment ideas?

lol they get confusing like this one MNSSHP. :)

I read it as "Florida" as well.

I have a hard time with the acronyms as well, but I get a kick out of them if for nothing else than for the fact that it is just expected people will understand things like "MNSSHP".

I realize that's what the "help" thread is for...but the failure of some (generally veteran( posters to even recognize that most of the general public might not know what a lot of these (sometimes completely unnecessary) acronyms are for is just hilarious to me.

I think Tink is a top tier character after the fab 5. I think most likely it will be included, people want to meet her somewhere.

I was referring more to the Disney Faries franchise, so far their are 2 movies and 3 more to go, Tinker bell on her own will always be popular, but does anyone really like her friends (Fawn, Iredessa, Ect.) the only other characters I like in the films are her boyfriend Terrance, and the villain Vidia.

Compaired to the Princess line wich has characters from as far back as 1937 's Snow White and is getting two new addtions (Tiana and Rapunzel) , it seems to have better staying power because each Princess comes from their own orignal film with a good storyline and good characters, at almost everyone has a favorite Disney princess movie.

Im not saying Disney Faries will be short lived , its just I think it will end up not lasting forver like the princesses.

I agree, except for a few kids between 4-7 years old few others would know the side characters. I think though that if you have Tink meeting people why not her friends too? Just to stretch the experience.

I hope that Disney can meet or exceed the pixie hollow they have in DL. It is sort of a dual use area. For thr M&G and a special spot to see at night. The only problem is in DL they don't need to plan for rain but in WDW everything needs to be built under a cover.

Updating the thread to FLE new problem, the male audience, the whole dang expansion is in trouble because it needs to appeal to both girls and boys, here are some of my ideas to make it appeal to boys:

Tangled mini-land: Tangled is the Rapunzel story that is being markted towards boys (but a D23 assures us that it will still be a classic musical fairy tale film), girls can tour Rapunzles tower and meet her, boys can get theif/adventure traning from Flyn in the woods ,then after thats done everyone can eat at the Snuggly Duckling.

Halloween Town: this one is kind of a streach, it would be an area themed after the twisted town from the Nigthmare Before Christmas, guest can enter town hall and ride a dark ride that sums up the movies plot, boys can meet Jack Skeleington in his lab and gives them scare lesson, Sally would also be there. (I threw this in mainly because NBC needs more repesntation in the parks.)

Fantasia mini-land: This land would have two rides the relaxing Fantsia boat ride (featuring the Hippos, Centaurs, and Dancing Mushrooms) and the thriling Bald Mountain roller coaster which has guests riding carts through the spook filled Bald Mountain from Fantasia, in the end you encounter the gigantic Chernabog, there would also be a show themed around the Sorcerer's Appertance short in the area.

Pinocchio's Village mini-land: In order to get this land to work, they would have to retheme the Pinocchio village haus to another movie, it would feature an improved version of the disneyland dark ride that would have you shooting out of Monstro before the end, the village haus would be moved to this area, and Gepetto's workshop would sell wimsical wooden toys.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Here's my two cents. Keep the Pixie Hollow, make it a Tink-only meet and greet, and make Pixie Hollow a big soft-floored water feature similar to Ariel's Grotto. It'll be forest-y enough for boys, but have the Tink appeal for girls. Everyone gets a little wet, keeps cool, the kids run around and expend energy and everyone's happy. :goodvibes

That is the best idea I have heard yet. With the grotto and Donald's boat in Toontown gone, where will the little run and play and cool off. I have to say the grotto was my little DD's favorite place.

Thanks! DH agreed, he was like "wow, that really is a good idea!" Ariel's Grotto was one of DD's faves too. :goodvibes

It was already sad to hear Mickey and Minnie are leaving.....It would be sad to see the Pixie Hollow plans go to the wayside now too... my daughter LOVES Tinkerbell and ALL of the other pixies- not to mention Mickey and Minnie! :goodvibes And to be honest, there are ALREADY alot of things for little boys (and the big boys) to do... Pirates, Alladin, Dumbo, Go carts, Buzz Lightyear, all of the "Mountains"... There really isn't much "Girly" stuff when you think about it! :flower3:

I LOVE this idea too!!

My boys love this idea a lot! A scary rollercoaster with all the villans. Awsome idea!

I'd love to see something like this as well. My DS10 doesn't have much interest in MK these days & I'd love it if there were something there to appeal to him.
With that said, I also love the 'water play area' idea. Kids of all ages & adults love to play in water and cool off.

I have 2 boys, but I say keep keep Pixie Hollow! The FLE sounds great, but IMHO what I think would be cool by Pixie Hollow is something tying it back to Peter Pan. Maybe the Lost Boys hide out where kids could meet Peter Pan and do a tutorial or ceremony to become honorary lost boys or girls. My kids love Peter Pan, and with Ridley Pearson expanding the stories in a new series of books, this could be really cool and a way to "boy up" things up a bit. It seems like a natural fit to me:) but don't blast me. I'm rather proud of the idea;)

My 11 year old son wants to add his 2 boy cents here LOL, and I think his idea sounds pretty cool. He is suggesting an activity over by the Sleeping Beauty/Aurora area where you learn to "Dragon Slay" or fight Maleficent. Sounds like a fun and a great way to sell swords and shields. Prince Phillip could teach it!

I'm having way to much fun with ideas for FLE....

I have an idea for it that will appeal to not only boys but older kids overall as well. They could add an attraction based off the Kingdom Keepers book series. You're following the DHIs Finn, Willa, Charlene, Philby, and Maybeck, on a high-speed chase to follow Maleficent to the lair of the Overtakers and defeat Chernabog. Most of it would be in a fast-moving coaster-type seat, but there would be a part in the climax where you get out, Finn teells you to take the sword off a wall, and you fight Chernabog yourself. He explodes in fury, and you hurry back into the seat and speed towards the end of the ride. For littler kids, "Finn" could teach them how to be a Keeper just outside the ride entrance.

We like the Kingdom Keepers idea! As much as we like the interactive and role play experiences, I do agree another thrill ride like a KK coaster or Villians Mountain would be cool. Or one through Maleficent's forest of thorns, or that horrible wolf filled Forrest that surrounds Beast castle. Another idea could be Captain Hook chasing Peter Pan on pirate ships. There are so many ideas & themes-just make it a thrill.
