Just wondering if it's worth mentioning to MS when I call that DH and I will be celebrating our 27th anniversary. I'm using points to book a Magic Kingdom view at the Contemporary.

First off HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I think it would be worth it, and I would mention it when you check in. You may even want to call the Contemporary a couple days before arrival and check up on your room and mention it since this is a special occasion you want everything perfect! Enjoy and have a trip!

Thanks so much! MS could only get reservations at the GF in a garden view room-no Royal Palm club and no Contemporary. Oh well, at least we'll be at WDW! The MS agent noted our anniversary, so maybe Tink will sprinkle some pixie dust!!!

MS can book what's available, but that doesn't mean that something won't open up prior. I would call the GF a couple of days before, they usually assign rooms 24-48 hrs prior and speak with someone. Tell them your coming in to celebrate your 27th anv. ,you know the whole thing and see if they can get you the area/view you want. You would be surprised, many times people coming in don't have a exact request, therefore they can accommodate yours. I would try to talk to the Front Desk Manager or Asst.
So don't give up hope!

PS, given the choice I would go GF. We stayed one night at the Contemporary and we weren't crazy about it IMHO. The GF I think will be nice for a Anv. celebration. The lobby is beautiful and the piano, oooh okay I really need a Dis fix, you can just hop on the boat to the MK, you can sit on the beach, take a walk to The Wedding Chapel. Don't worry it will be great.

It always helps to ask! Last time we went I let them know is was DS's b'day. I mentioned it again at check-in, and they asked who each of my kids' favorite characters were (DS-7 = Buzz, DD 6 = Princesses, DD 5 = Pooh), and next thing we knew, they showed up with a huge bunch of balloons and nice phots in a cardboard frame for each of the kids...and yup, they each got their favorite character. Talk about starting the trip off on the right foot!

Hitting Valentine's Day very nice!

We gone the last three years to WDW for our Anniversary! Nice dinner out, see some attractions and alot of one-on-one time, no kids!
