Pixie Dust/Thoughts

Rosie, thinking of you and James and wishing him a good, sleepy evening recovering from his endoscopy. Take a deep breath and think positive!

Good News: The endoscopy showed no tumors, no ulcers nor any obstructions. They did go ahead and take a biopsy just as a matter of course.

The bad news is we still don't know what is wrong. We're told that there will be a follow up call when the biopsy results are in in two weeks. We'll see how it goes from there.

Thank you all so very much. I can't tell you how much it meant to me. The hospital is in an area of Portland I am unfamiliar with and so on top of worrying I had driver angst!

Home sweet home..James is resting comfortably and I am breathing normal.

Love you all.

I'm glad the test went well and I'm happy for what it didn't show. I hope the results come back ok. You both must be tired from all the stress. Keep us posted.

Rosie, having gone through something vaguely similar for the past year, and all the yucky endoscopy/colonoscopy stuff, I would just advise you to keep on your doctor and keep asking questions until you get answers. I was a bit too laid back in the beginning ("oh, they'll get back to me eventually") and felt miserable for longer than I needed to, instead of saying "What other things can we be doing while we wait for those biopsy results? Blood work? Other testing?" Good luck to both of you...a clean endoscopy is a good thing!

Jen  How did it work out on your end? James blood work was good..liver and pancreas are all functioning well, his stool shows no blood...etc..I guess the next place to look is in the intestines.

Yep, look in those intestines baby. For me it is a bacterial overgrowth in my upper intestines (there's supposed to be bacteria in there, but mine have a party and invite their friends, and that wreaks havoc on my digestion in many ways). I had a "bacterial overgrowth breath test" to diagnose this condition. I also had blood tests for celiac disease, which would have shown up in a biopsy as well, but that was negative. It's funny how some extra bacteria can mess with your life, but thankfully easy to fix with a course of some heavy duty antibiotics every year or so.

Thanks! I'll be sure to ask about that. Glad you're respondin to treatment.

Glad to here all is good so far. :thumbsup2

OK.. I see that you did post the results and that they were good.. phew.. I was worried with those symptoms...Let us know how the biopsy goes as well... we are here for you. Hoping they can find out what it is, take care of it, and he can go about his business..

Oh no! I just saw this, as I've been away from the boards due to moving.

I hope they find out what's wrong and fix it asap, Rosie.
Happy thoughts your way

I just read this thread.....HUG for James and you as you try to get answers. I have had all the gamet of belly test....they found no answers so labeled me with IBS. Granted it is a lot nicer than say, cancer, but since there is no cure and limited treatment (due to other medical conditions I have) it still stinks like.....your goat!
