Pixie dust request afraid about my health

Flank pain...ok...read those prayers, take a deep breath and get off the internet. You are freaking yourself out!

I feel like crap all the time. I have reflux that I need to get under control and allerigies that bug me all the time.

Does anyone feel good anymore?

sorry, i know i sound stupid.
i'm saying kidneys because i read flank pain, which is what i have, right under ribs which is what i have. Also because I suspect i've been ignoring the bp for awhile and kidney damage is a side effect.
I'm also going to see a good counselor about my worrying/fears and poor decision making process concerning my health. Once you avoid the dr for awhile it becomes harder to go in and see him.

I think that is a good idea. You might suffer from a form of anxiety and they may be able to give you something to help your fears. It truely sounds like you are working yourself up to a panic attack. The symptoms you are telling us are classic for panic attacks. I used to suffer from them a lot when I was married to my ex-husband. I know you will feel much better when you talk to the dr, and start making true progress on getting your bp down.

yep i know. I could use help dealing with dh's recovery from bi-polar and alcohol problems. BTW my dd had panic attacks awhile back. They were triggered by an inflamed sternum condition called costochondroitous (sp) It was very hard to not believe that she was suffering from a heart problem. So I have had that in the back of my mind.
I was so worried about posting this problem on here. I'm so glad I did. I feel a bit better, but still worried.
Buckalew, I spent the night praying and making deals with God. Kind of pathetic maybe.

tiggeroo, I don't think you sound stupid. I think you sound scared. But I do think you can build everything up into a worse case scenerio and make yourself nuts. I often do this to myself. Here is a for instance--DH just ran the WDW marathon. Yay! for him but I can hardly run to the mailbox. But 2 nights ago he signed us both up for next year's half (he'll then go on and try for the full on Sunday completing the Goofy).

So, last night I look over at the events board on the W.I.S.H. board and see that a man finished the half last Saturday and then died as soon as he crossed the finish line!! Will that be me next year? Will I die trying to do this? After all, I am in terrible shape...the thoughts race through my mind & I end up planning my funeral.

The mind is a very complex thing & self talk and positive thoughts go a long, long way.

You will not know more of what is going on until you see a doctor. But I encourage you to keep doing your lifestyle changes because losing weight & exercising will help everything about your health.

Keep those prayer going. I tell you, often I sit down and have a heart to heart with God and pour it all out. I don't think God is too much into the deal making though. :) I think it is common to say, God, if you'll just let____ then I'll ____. But really, I don't think He works that way. Promise Him what you want to promise Him and follow through as best as you can.

As a sufferer from anxiety issues, I know where you are coming from and as i always say, if I had a magic wand, I wave it and make them go away. It sounds as if you have a lot going on. Bi-polar is incredibily hard to deal with and I know you have 3 children (teens, right?) to worry about. Your plate is full. Talking, venting, counseling are good. More hugs!!

Here's some PD.

As a cancer survivor myself, I understand the worrying.

But I am also a cardiac nurse, and we see TONS of people who do not go for regular medical care. Don't beat yourself up over it!! However, from what you've described about your symptoms and your history of hypertension (what other history do you yourself and your family have?), it's important you see a doctor, have bloodwork and an ECG done. If it's simply the medication or anxiety, that's ok, they'll figure it out. But if it's something more serious then you want to get help. (Wondering if the discomfort began when you were beginning a new exercise program? At any rate, hold off on the exercise until you see the doctor today).

I'm truly convinced i'll be told that i have very bad kidney disease and perhaps permenant heart disease. I'm afraid i'll be put on dialysis and be told i'm dying.
Most young people today with heart disease have very treatable disease. It's then important to "get back into the system" of regular medical care in order to take care of any problems that might crop up - that's true of anyone, especially as we get older. Risk factor reduction is a big part of the picture for all of us too. You will be taught how to do that, please take it seriously. I am here if I can help you with that or anything else.

Tig.'s You have some great advice here. Anxiety is VERY powerful, our minds run wild. You have done the most important step so far, you have seen a doctor, you are treating, you are following up. Three of the most important things you can be doing, and you are doing them..initiate, treat, follow up. Also, taking meds at times need 'tweaking', to much, too little. You are in my prayers. And we want to hear a follow up, what the doc says after your next visit. Okay?

Let me see a smile there...........:)

Good, I see it. :goodvibes

I know I have all kinds of aches and pains that I never had in my 30's! Then I get on the internet to research it and scare myself silly with all the "what it might be/could be" etc.

Tigeroo, you're doing the right thing by getting yourself checked out. Let the doctors decided what's going on and take it from there. If you don't like their answer, seek a second opinion! Good luck! :flower2:

After my recovery from breast cancer, I found I was extra conscious of every little ache and pain. I imagined all sorts of things. I'd go to the doctor and he'd tell me it was nothing. This went on for several years. I finally told myself that I was wasting what time I have in life worrying. It just isn't worth it. Now, I try to take care of myself, but I don't go to extremes. If God decides it is my time, at least I won't have wasted it worrying.

Try to relax. Since it started when you started the medication, it could very well be a reaction to the medication. Your doctor should be able to change you to something else. Sometimes, having internet access to medical information is not a good thing.

Bumping for an update, what did the dr say?

Here is a  for you and here is the :wizard: you ask for. Hats off to you for going to the Dr's. I know so many people that just put it off. Let things run their course and feel better soon. :goodvibes

I agree with everyone else....it's a good thing you are doing this for yourself! You'll be Ok, I am sure, and we'll all be waiting here so you can post how well everything is going to be.....and congratulations on going to college! I hope you enjoy it as something you are doing for you!
