Pixie Dust...Please...

This is sort of cruise related, and sort of not cruise related...

I found out Friday at midnight about the loss of my job.. I was planning on cruising again (of course) in September, and now well... I am freaking out....WE just bought a new family business last month, and this was our security blanket (my job) so we are really being thrown for a loop...

My dd6 says "Mommy, does this mean no disneycruise this year".. I said, sweetie I really do not think so...She is SOOOO upset... I know this is nothing compared to what some people are going through.... It just means our business must boom....

Ok enough feeling sorry for me...In the meantime my daughter is searching through her bag of pretzels looking for the virgin mary....(ebay)

I am very sorry to hear about this. I know EXACTLY what you mean. My DH lost his job of 15 years back in December (1 week before Christmas)
We had to put our plans for a Disney Cruise on hold for this year also.

I count my blessings that he just found a new job a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it was a MAJOR pay cut to begin with, but eventually it will get up there. The hours are much better than he had before (he used to work rotating shift work.)

Many hugs to you and well wishes. Something will come up. You may have to put off that Disney cruise this year, but the next one will be all the sweeter for you.

i'm sorry to hear about the loss of your job!! thats a real hard pill to swallow- i have been layed off several times and its not a good feeling

i hope you will still be able to cruise as planned if not you will just have something to look forward to next year

We had the same thing happen, except the trip was to be to Disney World. DH lost his job (co went bankrupt) at Thanksgiving. Before Christmas he had a new & better job. Earning much less money, but he was much happier. We also opened a new business at the same time. We still took our trip to Disney, most of it was pre-paid already and it was a great stress reliever. Everything is supposed to happen for a reason. It'll all be for the better I'm sure!
