:( My sister turned 18 on last Wednesday and it's been **** ever since. This past weekend I spent the night at my moms because DBrother's church thing was in the AM, well sis didn't come home till 3am, was told no later than 12.. we stayed up all night worried sick. She did the same thing saturday night... got a call today from mom that sis's school called (BTW she is 13 weeks away from graduating) saying she hadn't been in three days... and that she had no been home since yesterday morning. She left a note saying she was leaving and would not be back EVER. Most people would pass this off as a phase, but not with her... she has been in and out of trouble ever since my parents seperation in 96'... last year she failed school, but has been do SO VERY good since and last semester got all A's. What has gotten into her... please send us some pixie dust in hopes that she will come home, we are all worried sick and scared and of course a little angry and upset. My DBrother 7, is sitting in his room crying right now and DGrandmother is doing the same (just spoke with her)... thanks everyone! Anyone ever have anything similar, what was the outcome? Advice. My mom is scared to punish her if she comes home that she would leave again, but I think her freedom and lack of rules is part of it...

Oh, I'm so sorry.

I'm sending some PD your family's way. I hope your sister comes home soon.

I'm so sorry, and will keep your family in my thoughts.

I am so sorry... I will keep her and you all in my thoughts and prayers. I hope she will come home soon!! :grouphug:

No advice for you, but plenty of PD in hopes that your sister comes home, and things work out for you.

Oh how awful! I'm sorry.

 It sounds like she is testing the whole "I'm 18 now so I'm an adult and I can do anything I want" theory. My cousin took off at 13, but came back at 14.(My parents helped raise her for 7 years. She is like a baby sister to me) SInce then she has been on her own. When she turned 21 a couple years ago, she disappeared for several days. She just looked at the father of her 2nd child and said I'm going out see you later only later was almost a week. She walked out on 4 children. Her comment when she returned was I'm 21 and I wanted to party since I could officially buy drinks. Her parents had to use tough love with her becuase she was always in trouble and a chronic runaway. At this point she has had to grow up. She now has custody of all 4 kids plus her 2 brothers that are special needs. It was VERY hard on everyone during the times when she would disappear. We always wondered (I still do) when the news would say some young person had been injured, arrested, or was being sought for questioning. I wish there was an easy answer, but there really isn't. All you can do is pray she returns safely and a little more wise as to what it is like to be self supporting. At this point my cousin knows she can call me if she needs to but I will not give her money. I pray she at least calls to say she is ok. All you can do is comfort your little brother. We had "D"'s little brothers draw pictures to help them express how they felt. We also let them talk and cry as often as needed. It is ok to mad at her too. I was highly ticked at what "D" put us through. When she came back the first time I told her I was glad she was home but very angry she took off to begin with. (She left in the middle of the night, no note, and left the back door wide open. A neighbor happened to see a car pull up and her running out to get in it) I pray for peace for you and your family and for her safe return.:grouphug:
