Pixar Movies Worst to Best

Good list. We just watched Inside Out again last night and it's growing on me. I appreciate something new about it each time, but the moment that always gets me is when Joy is on the train and realizes that she is NOT the only one that matters! Once she recognizes that Sadness is just as important (Mom, Dad and the team, they came because of Sadness) and then turns over the Core Memories to Sadness in the control room...Gah! Gets me.

I'm a sucker for Toy Story, too. It's been too long since I watched TS2. I'm super excited about Toy Story Land, and we had the BEST meet and greet with Woody and Jessie in January. Good stuff! I would love to see an "Escape from Sunnyvale" dark ride with that freaky monkey in it somewhere!!

I still haven't seen Good Dino either.

Wow-we want to Disneyland because of the Cars franchise. We love cars. I hated inside/out the first time I saw it. Now that I saw it again I just really dislike it a lot. That's what make people different and interesting. To each their own.

I think that Ratatoullie needs to move down the list and that Cars needs to move up. You don't see Disney making at Ratatouille land anytime soon! Wall-E and a Bug's Life are not my favorite but I understand that people like them.

Brave, Up, and Wall-E are too low. I also liked the Toy Story sequels better than the original.

Car 2 is ranked too low IMHO. I agree that there's too much Mater, but I love how they integrated the autoracing world, all of it, into the movie. In full disclosure, I am an autoracing fan, especially of Formula 1 and World Rally Championship, so I loved that they had the real drivers doing voice work in the movie. I would put it more in the middle. The original Cars is too low too. It was really cool and had an ingenious story.

I can't believe a Bug's Life got rated as high as it did. Personally, Frances the Ladybug is the best part of that movie for me. I haven't seen the Good Dinosaur, but I suspect these two should compete for last place.

Brave should be much higher too. Merida is awesome and kicks butt. I like that there's a female role model that isn't looking for her knight in shining armor. No MRS degrees there, thank you very much.

I love WALL-E and would have put it much higher. I like that it's a commentary on our society. Truth hurts, doesn't it?

I don't know if the Toy Story sequels should have rated as high as they did. I like them though. I think I liked Toy Story 2 better than 3. 3 got old after a while. I am torn about the original. I remember seeing it in the theater and just being floored by the animation and the story line. However, it's hard to compare it to the newer Pixar films, since many of them have surpassed it's story and animation. I can see though that none of them would exist without it.

Ratatouille is cute and all, but I just don't think it should be that high. The French stereotypes got pretty annoying.

I liked Nemo, but I think I am getting sick/bored with it.

I am shocked that Up ranked as high as it did. I really like it, but I didn't think most people did.

Inside Out is completely overrated. It was ok, but I would not have put it that high at all. I guess the story just didn't click with me. I felt it kind of glosses over the fact that depression is a health issue that needs medical care and should not be ignored. I guess it's just too serious of a topic for cartoon portrayals in my opinion. I also feel that there was nothing in it that surprised me. I have always liked that Pixar movies have something in them that just comes as a total surprise. This one was just too predictable.

Considering I loved 1-12, what I got most out of this list is the fact that Pixar is awesome :)

There is a massive Ratatouille ride in Paris and it is very popular

Good list. Hard to rank a lot of quality movies ..

I am a huge Pixar fan, The first movie my wife and I saw was "Up" .. I proposed to her with a stuffed Dug and a homemade Adventure Book (and a lot of balloons!). That is probably my all-time favorite.

But, I had been disappointed with their last few releases until I saw Inside Out. I would prefer original works over sequels, but unfortunately it looks like we'll get more sequels (Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4, Finding Dory, Cars 4). They do sell movie tickets and merchandise and theme park tickets ..

To me what makes a GREAT Pixar movie? Characters and a story that pulls at your heart strings to the point that brings tears to your eyes and a lump in your throat. A story that makes you life and cry all in the same movie. Toy Story .. Up, Wall-E, Inside Out.

The sound and animation in Wall-E to me is beyond brilliant on how they can portray so much emotion without many words. My 3 year old son easily "got" the love that Wall-E and EVE shared and cried genuine tears as he was crushed at the end as she frantically tries to put him back together. Now that is filmmaking!

Ride popularity != movie popularity OR movie quality. Look at Splash Mountain. How many people have even seen Song of the South? Mary Poppins is quite popular, yet there is no attraction for it.

I was one of the few who really enjoyed Cars 2, however I don't think it should have been G-rated and they should have toned down a few scenes

If you look at the timing of releases I think we're getting about as many Pixar originals as before, they've just started slotting sequels into the off years.

At the end of the day its more about what Merch they can sell with a Ride. Selling toys for Toy Story etc.. is much easier than Mary Poppins etc..

I don't know though look at Haunted Mansion they opened a specfic store for that. I think Mary Poppins would have a nice following especially with the adult crowd.

Tower of Terror and Expedition Everest too.

Its funny to me, because from the photos I've seen for that attraction, they re-created a street themed to Paris.....in Paris.

That's more crazy than making a theme park about California in California

Well it's representative of the ratatouille movie but I understand where you are coming from.

That is SO sweet. I love "UP" I cried too many times to count and so did my kids. It really was amazing.

We had three miscarriages before having success with DS. Going to see Up, with the cartoon about storks delivering babies was like a punch in the gut and then being kicked while we were down. There's good reason Up doesn't have a home on my video shelf. While I liked Dug a lot, the rest of the movie didn't blow me away.

My personal favorite is The Incredibles. It really nails the silver age comics vibe. Cars is also popular at my house. My wife grew up in a small town that has suffered, and we both enjoy classic cars and road trips.

Different Pixar films appeal to different folks depending on your experiences. There's always at least one film that will bring a tear to your eye.

I am not a big fan of "Cars", but I can tell you that having watched it with the John Lassiter bonus feature engaged made it much more enjoyable for me. I know some folks never watch the extra features on discs, but if you haven't seen it, please give this one a try. :earsboy:
