We are planning a trip to DL and had originally planned on seeing the Pixar Block Party Bash at DCA on March 12th. When I checked the entertainement schedule on the Disney website, the block party is no longer listed - instead its a Cars parade - my 3 yr old will be disappointed. Is this a Disney website mistake or are they not having the block party daily - or at all?
I can't find anything on the internet about this.
Thanks for your help.
Megan

It appears that BPB is only being offered on weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun) during this time, which is consistent with an off-season schedule. The Cars parade appears to be offered daily, as is Parade of Dreams at DL. But POD is offered twice daily on weekends and once daily on weekdays.

Unfortunately it is harder to see shows and parades during off-season. See "HydroGuy's High Season/Off Season Tradeoff Rule" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199852

I thought that I had seen the block party advertised earlier, but there was no Cars parade then - guess it was the trade off.
Since you seem to be in the know....do you know if the turnstiles open before the official opening time - similar to WDW and the rope drop? I have a WDW park hopper that I will be exchanging for a DL day pass and was hoping to get that done before 9am.
Thanks,
Megan

It depends on the day and the park opening times, and whether or not it is an Early Entry day at DL. And then sometimes they are still not consistent.

Typically if DL opens at 8AM they do not open the gates early, and if it opens at 9AM or 10AM they do open the gates early. I have been as far as the end of Main Street for rope drop when they have let us in early.

At DCA, it is my understanding they always open the gates 30 minutes early and let you into the park, and they operate the Soarin Over CA ride during that time but no other rides. I have done this once. Shops are open during this time.

IMO the morning hours are critical to a successful day at Disney parks, and hence I try to avoid things that will slow me down. If you are exchanging a ticket or something like that, and if you have others in your party, I would send them to get in line at the gates and hold your spot while you deal with ticket exchange.
