Wow, this will give SW some competition! I just checked PIT/MCO and it's $139 round trip! this is for a july flight. Now i wish i wouldn't have booked my going down flight with SW. Nice to know we have options now too!!

Jet Blue has direct flights to FL? I thought they were only flying to JFK and Boston from Pittsburgh.

Edit - connections to Orlando are available through JFK. But if you look at the times, you're looking at a total of 6 or 7 hours each way. I'd rather pay a little more and get non-stop. Maybe they will add Orlando, it looks like USAir and Air Tran have let Southwest have the route, they both have cut flights. Air Tran now has only 1 stop each way at non-desirable times.

Well, for $139 for a family of 4, or even when we're only 3 flying, i will gladly pay the lower price and maybe just leave a day earlier so as not to cut down on disney time. Your first day is lost to flying anyways by the time you get your groceries and stuff, so we usually don't bother with a park that day. Unless it's only like $20 more per person, i would do jetblue. It would be neat to have those tv thingys too!
If it were just for myself, i'd be willing to pay more probably.

edit: that $139 is ONE WAY! it comes to almost $300 round trip. Think i'll stick with my SW!

I was wondering, the dates I was looking at were well over $100 each way.

Yeh, i saw there was a connection but there was so much type on the screen, i think i assumed that was all round trip options. I don't need a tv screen THAT bad, lol! :rolleyes2

Sure, we're not Orlando. :sunny: It's not as warm and sunny in Boston, but if you came for a visit, I'm sure you'd have a fun time. We have great American history almost everywhere you look (my office is about halfway between the site of the Boston Massacre and the site fo the Boston Tea Party), great museums of every stripe, and then there's Fenway Park (which some consider a cathedral).
So wouldn't it be nice to have a Pirates - Red Sox World Series this year? A man can dream can't he? :teeth:

Glad hear I'm not the only Pittsburger who thinks the connecting rates to MCO are high.

Perhaps they'll re-evaluate pricing/direct flights in the future.

I don't think they are trying to market to the Pittsburgh/Orlando flyers. They are trying to get the business travelers to New York and Boston. With the cost of fuel skyrocketing, I'm not sure they would want to get into a fare war with Southwest to Orlando. USAir has cutback to 3 flights per day and AirTran to 1, fares are high, which tells me they don't want to compete with SW for leisure travelers on the route, they wouldn't make money on it with their higher operating costs compared to SW. I noticed I have not seen any PIT/MCO dings on SW lately, so I wouldn't be surprised to see their fares going up.

Pretty good ding today - $44 to orlando thru april 30th. Didn't check any dates for availability since i already have my flight for april. I don't think ANYthing will ever beat my $97 roundtrip price!

That DING above, Pitt-MCO, is only for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.

FYI.... I had $89 and $92 roundtrip's to MCO from Pittsburgh during December,Jan, and Feb. During March and April(Spring break's and Easter) you will NEVER see Southwest drop prices below $100-$120 for there DING fares.

I checked your flights (I happen to know what they are ;) ), it's now $332, $192 + $140. Only the fully refundable fare is available for the flight to MCO.
