Can anyone tell me if they have heard or been to Charlie Murdoch's? It is a piano bar. Where in Pitts is it? We will be traveling through Pittsburgh in a few months and I read that Pete Moran, who used to be at Jellyrolls about 6-8 years ago plays there now. Loved him and would love to see him again.

I heard it's in South Side (close to downtown, other side of the River.) I love Southside and have been to a lot of restraunts there, but haven't been to Charlie Murdoch's yet.

Is South side a city or geographical location? I've been fairly intimate with the atlas lately and still can't seem to find it. :(

Also, where is the Steelers Stadium? DS wants his picture taken in front of it.

South Side is a city.

Heinz Field is on the North Shore.:thumbsup2

OK...to make it simple...breakdown on the layout of PGh.

Imagine 2 rivers coming together to form another. Kind of a "Y" shape(hence the term 3 rivers)
The point of land where they meet is called the point (clever huh?) Pretend this is the hub of WDW
If you are standing at the POINT facing down river (where the 2 first rivers join) To your right across the 1st river that feeds into the combined river is the North Shore(area of town/not a city name) To your left across the other river that feeds into the combined river is the South Side(again an area of town/not a city name)Off to the left/straight is the west end. Behind you is Downtown(aka-the city) back beyond that is the east hills and Oakland(this is a city not an area-tho the addy is Pgh)

Pretty much everything from the point out 10 miles or so radius is a Pgh addy and would be listed as such on a map (with the exception of some communities here and there that have there own name)

I know that sounds confusing but now at least if you look on a map and find the rivers you can get your bearings. Wish I could draw a simple one for you. GOOD LUCK and enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the visual. It really helped. Now I can at least understand the area while looking at the map.

Here is a web site for Charlie Murdoch's
http://www.charliemurdochspittsburgh.com/Charlie Murdochs/Welcome.html

Bios of the piano players on the site. Look under "the show". It's a fun place! I was there about 2 weeks ago.
