Im a single dad. Going in 30 days. 2 boys ages 11/7. If you have done the treasure hunt in MK can you tell me if you thought it was worth your while? Thanks!

I can only assume that you are talking about the "Pirates Adventure" as seen here. If that is the case, it is very basic in terms of what you do. There are several quests where you find the locations on the map. Then you unlock the magic and something happens and then they tell you where to go after that. There isn't a collectible prize or anything at the end. Each quest is relatively short on the time scale. You are confined to adventure land. Not sure how kids like it. I found it to be a good distraction while pushing a sleeping toddler and family did tiki room. The reactions from guests who were near by and didn't expect the environment to change was sometimes priceless.

You may also want to look into the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom seen here. This is a bit more interactive as guests unlock portals and fight villains. This is much more of at time sink. There are around 12 quests. Each quest is confined to a different area of the park and usually has 4-5 portals to play. If you want to complete the entire game anticipate on 3.5-4 hours, individual quests 15-20 minutes. You receive 5 free trading cards for each player (sign up everyone in your family) each day that you play and each time you beat the entire game. You can also purchase booster packs at the Emporium that include a play at home game set. My wife and I have individually beaten the once and together once. We are currently on the medium difficulty. We only play periodically now depending on our other goals for each day .

My boys, 13 and 10, both liked the Pirate Adventure (treasure hunt) as well as Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. But they did like Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom more (and spent more time working on that and collecting cards each day). The nice thing about the Pirate Adventure is that it is all held within Adventure Land, where as Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom was all over the park. I believe you get to keep the maps that you get when doing the Pirate Adventure (and it's good practice for the kids to read a map and look for details). And for Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom you collect and keep the cards (on pack each day you are at the Magic Kingdom and a bonus pack when you complete a full mission-it took my boys 3 days to fully complete a mission...though they were only DEDICATED to playing it one day when we split up so they could run around the park finishing their quest). If you have questions you want answered, let me know and I can poll my two boys. But they tell me they were both fun (as well as Perry's Adventure in EPCOT)

My kiddos were 9 (DS), 8 (DD) and 4 (DS) last time we did it. They had a bunch of fun with it and you get to keep the map. We are going back this February and they will be 11, 10 and 6, and we will probably do it again. But my youngest is insane about pirates, so that may have something to do with the allure.

My boys loved it and we plan to do it again this trip. There are maybe 6-8 different maps. We returned all but one. It's all in Adventureland and a great, relaxing alternative to long lines or stores.
We plan to try the sorcerer game this trip.

I did a few of them (by myself no kids). It was fun, passed the time. Not something I would want to do if it's super crowded as you do just keep trekking back & forth in one area. It was fun to see the hidden things or find surprises. I didn't complete all the maps so I don't know if there is anything at the end?

My 5 year old Daughter loved doing this with her father. I sat across from POTC at the QS and was able to watch most of it giving my feet a rest joining in now and then. We just discovered all these sort of fun things to do last trip and it it one of my best memories watching my daughter getting excited trying to figure out the map and clues. These interactive games are a very nice break from the hectic pace.

It's cool, but also really easy - very little skill needed. They'll probably enjoy sorcerers more with 1 big caveat - Sorcerer's is really long, Pirates can be completed in 10-15 minutes tops. You could spend hours on Sorcerers.
