Pirates & Princess Party

My husband just found out he has to go to a conference in Orlando 2/17 - 2/19. We're thinking of going with him and staying the following week. There's a Pirate and Princess Party on 2/23. Has anyone done this yet? Is it worth it??? Let me know!

We did the party on Jan. 26. It was very cute, great fireworks and parade, fun entertainment. Lots of treasure spots to get beads, chocolate, and raisins. Little to no lines for rides. You can get into the park at 4 or 4:30 and stay until 12:30 so it is good deal compared to a 1 day ticket. We saw some characters, like Cinderella's stepmother/stepsisters that we haven't seen before. The character lines seemed long, but that seems typical.

My only downside with kids age 9, 7, and 3, is that it was just too late for our kids. They had taken a nap in the afternoon so they were fine for the party, but we didn't get to bed until 1 am and they were a total mess for the next day. Truly, beyond exhausted. I wish we had just hung out at the hotel for the day.

So, I would do it again but do nothing the day of the party until the party, and then do nothing the day after. But then I'm not sure if I would want to give up 2 days of regular park time to go to the party for 1 night.

TOTALLY WORTH IT!

We took my 3 year old on 1/29. It was absolutely the best part of our trip!
She met all of the Princesses and got their autographs and pictures with them. We rode all of the rides that we had wanted to ride the day before but the lines were too long. And she absolutely loved the Parade and Fireworks!

We were in Adventure land at about 11pm getting autographs from Genie and Abu and the Cast Member with them told us that Princess Jasmine would be there in a few minutes.
So we waited and got her autograph. There was no one in line behind us so Ciara sat and talked with her for about 10 minutes and Jasmine told her all about how warm it is in Agrabah (it was pretty cold that night and Ciara was all bundled up) and Aladdin and flying on the Magic Carpet.
When we were getting ready to leave Jasmine pulled me aside and said that if Ciara was still up at midnight to bring her back and she had a surprise for her.
So at midnight we headed back to Adventure Land and sure enough Jasmine rode the Magic Carpet ride with Ciara. It was just the two of them on the carpet. My husband rode right in front of them and got some of the most amazing pictures!
When the ride was over Jasmine gave her a big kiss and Ciara told her that she was her very best friend!

I had jokingly told the cast member with Jasmine that it looked like Ciara's favorite Princess Cinderella had been demoted... and sure enough as we were walking away Ciara turns around and yells back "Jasmine... you're may favorite Princess!".

So... if you get a chance to go make sure you stay late. That was when the Magic really happened for us!
