At around $300 - is this worth it? Kids are 14, 12 & 9. Is it REALLY fun or just fun?

We thought it was great, my daughter, her two boys, ages 4 and 6 at the time, and myself. There were adults only on the cruise as well as kids your kids' ages. It really is a fun evening.

We loved it. One of our favorites from our 2013 trip. Would definitely do it again. Fun for all ages.

We did it once and it was definitely worth the $$ to us....nice extra that trip. The kids also did Pirates League earlier that afternoon so they were already in character for Pirates and Pals.

I was trying to find more info on the Pirates League - there really isn't much on the Disney site. My son will be 9....is it similar to the BBB process (my girls did that when they were younger)? My DD's will be 14 & 12. The younger one might be into the mermaid option, my older not so much. The price range on Disney's site is $35-80, which is pretty different. Did it take up a lot of your MK day. We only have 2 days at MK. I was thinking of doing the cruise on our break day, but now that you mention this, I really like the idea of doing this and then the cruise.

We did it in 2012 & are going to go again next month. Loved the treat party and loved seeing the fireworks over the water.

we loved it too and I think it is worth the money. We will do it again in a year or two. The view of Wishes was amazing, much better than the Wishes dessert party view.

Honestly , this is our hidden gem of WDW !!! We love it and go every trip now !! I say it's a hidden gem, because all we would ever hear about was the wishes dessert party--- ( which we also liked, before they changed it)
One trip, I couldn't secure the wishes dessert party, so we went to pirates and pals instead--- just our opinion, but so much better !!! It's a must for us !!!

Yes, it's very similar to BBB process. It didn't take a lot of the day, my DD has done it twice. The first time we had an appointment and had a wait before her name was called...so it probably took about 90 mins from beginning to end. This last time we just did a walk-up shortly before they closed and was able to get right in..probably only took 45 mins max.

We have reservations for the Pirates and Pals event next month. It will be our last night at WDW.

Done anyone know what products are being used at BBB and Pirates and Pals? I called reservations and they only stated that is 'kid approved' but is it free of sulphates, parabens etc!!!! I even asked if I can supply my own hair and make up for them to apply on my daughter and they said NO!
I'm concerned, I've read that the lil girls complain about the itching, too tight and painfull will all these Bobby pins!!!!
My daughter really would love having being made over by a fairy god mother, but if the products are going to be harmful to them, and with the amt of $$$ spent!!!! Idk, second guessing this 'magical transformation'

Even more fun, adults can do PL too! It's great fun to get the whole family done and then to P&P. We love the cruise, it's a highlight

The range is there because some of the options include an outfit but the makeup only options are all about $35. It's really a great bargain.

I did it as an adult with no kids. It was alright. View is kind of skewed if you aren't on the correct side of the boat. Since it'd be $300 anyway for you, have you considered just getting a private wishes cruise for your family? I liked that WAY better!

You can book cruises for both Wishes and Illuminations.
Typically used for large groups but oftentimes several families will go together and get a boat.
