Hi!
The Pirates and Pals cruise was a PHENOMENAL experience for my family, and worth every penny to us!
We arrived at Check-In and I believe they let us in at 8 or 8:30? The first thing we did was head straight to meet Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. If your children want to meet them, I recommend you do that first, or else you'll be waiting in a rather long line that will consume all of your time for desserts. The pair are very fun together! There was a lot of joking around and Mr. Smee did a little pirate jig with my sister and I.
My dessert spread photos were blurry, but essentially, the spread was nothing to write home about. It consisted of a cake that I didn't care for, some pretzels, some cotton candy, some chocolate dubloons, and some fruit. PLUS, my favorites- all you care to eat Mickey Premium/Ice Cream Sandwiches and POG JUICE!!!
You have about an hour, maybe less to eat your desserts before your "twin" pirate hosts get you on the boat. Go to the bathroom first, as it's sort of a long boat journey and there's no bathroom on the boat.
The boat ride itself is incredibly fun. Your host will make jokes, play trivia for prizes, and sing tons of songs before you get a quality view of the electrical water pageant and Wishes. Then finally, there's a surprise visitor waiting to meet you on the docks...
Now, Peter alone could have sold me on this trip, since I love him and it's incredibly hard to meet him in the parks. However, this is not the best Peter Pan meet and greet out there. It takes place at night, so the quality of the photos will be below average no matter who takes the picture. Still, it's a lovely surprise.
I would probably do this cruise again. It was super fun. However, I'm disinclined to recommend it if you're really looking forward to the "dessert" aspect of it, as the dessert spread was a bit of a let-down and the Wishes Tomorrowland Terrace dessert party will probably be a better fit for you. However, if you just want an evening of family fun with Hook, Smee, and everyone's favorite lost boy, then this is the boat for you!
Hope I helped. Have a fun trip!
