Yes people, I've turned. I know I didn't use to 'get' peoples love for the movies, but now I do. I watched them a couple weeks ago and just loved it!

Now I know there's a pirate thread around here somewhere but I can't find it.

So I just wanna talk about it with people.

Anyone else just find theirselves drawn to it? It's like a drug or something.

I think my favorite is either DMC or AWE, although I still like The Curse of the Black Pearl.

The only part I was a little weirded out by was the Calypso parts, but those references were also some of my favorite. If that makes any sense. They were confusing, but one of my favorite peices of literature involves mythology so I enjoyed those references.

:DDD
I love AWE the most. The part when they go to rescue Jack and the ship falls. When everything is black and then it says "Dead men tell no tales." It reminds me SO much of the ride in WDW.

Oh yessss! I smiled so hugely when that happened and yelled that it was like the ride.

I loved at first when Jack was going crazy in the locker, seeing multiples of himself. At the end (the multiple Jack thing) got a tad annoying but that's alrighty.

OH OH OH. And the jar of dirt in DMC. For some reason I just loved that big jar of dirt.

I enjoy mythology. I find it interesting. The odyssey is really what got me interested in it this year. There was Calypso in that too I believe...
Anyways,
It was a tad confusing to me, but I liked it.

Yep, that's the peice of literature I'm talking about. We read it in 9th grade and I had a great teacher that explained everything very clearly so we could all understand it. It was so interesting after she explained it.

(Calypso is in it. :))

I just recently really got into Pirates! I didn't really understand why everyone was so infatuated with it. I watched all three in one night (I had seen 1 and 2 already) and I was hooked! I think the thing was I finally understood the movies. Without a doubt AWE is my fav...I love love love the relationship between Elizabeth and Will. I have to admit, admist all the action and pirating, my favorite scene from any of the movies is the last few scenes of AWE with Elizabeth and Will's "wedding" and the romance scene on th beach. :cloud9: Orlando Bloom is just so hot!!! I love the final scene at the way end too, with Elizabeth and her son waiting for Will to return to land. :cloud9:

I got that book from WDW this past summer and I must say, I love it so much. It explains stories behind the movies, characters, and um..stuff pirates do. It really cleared up all the confusing parts. :p
And it REALLY did entertain me in the hotel laundry room.

Oh. I thought so.
Yes, we read it this year.
It was very good.

I loved the Jar of Dirt.

I still have yet to get AWE.
I just haven't gotton around to buying it.
Hopefully going to get it sometime in the next couple weeks.

I did love the wedding scene!

I liked how they made Barbossa more 'human' in the 3rd movie. I liked him much more as a non-villain. :)

COTBP - I thought it did a good job of introducing the characters, the Black Pearl and all the sea turtle and rum references. IMO, it wasn't much of a movie on it's own but a wonderful set up to the trilogy.

DMC - I loved the introduction of Will's father, it added a lovely new dimension. Davy Jones just completely creeps me out, but that's another story. Jar of dirt. :goodvibes

AWE - The opening scene was so sad. :( I liked everything about Davy's 'locker'. I knew about Will becoming the captain and all from tidbits I had read when it first came out, so that wasn't a huge surprise. So I'm a little confused. Was it cleared up as to if Will came home for good that day, or if he just got that one day on land and 10 more years at sea?

As of now I don't own the movies, but plan to buy them soon.

I don't think the movie cleared it up, I guess maybe it is up to you. I like to imagine Will came home for good, and more babies were made.

Although I did read somewhere that Disney had written some type of book of something that said the Will did such a good job taking care of the souls that he was given freedom of the land and seas. I don't remember where I read this and it might not even be accurate but I had read it somewhere. :confused3

Did you see the after-credits scene for the third movie? Will comes back 10 years later. Elizabeth and their son are waiting for him.

Yes, that's the 'day' I'm talking about. I was just wondering if he got to stay or if he was made to go back to the seas for 10 more years.

Their son was very cute. :)

Yeah but that doesn't clarify if Will was able to stay or if it was only his one day on land. Hmmmm...Disney always keeps us thinking!

Btw, Pirate me, that peanut, it was mine! :rotfl: My Peanut!!!

Their son was very cute. :)
My friends and I always disagree about this, is the son at the end the same boy who is hung at the begining? The actor I mean. They look so alike!!
