Today at the Magic Kingdom in WDW a few Imagineers were talking with guest along the streets of Adventureland. As mentioned a few months ago, a younger Imagineer by the name of Lindsay Lewis seemed to be the main focus and was the only one talking. He did not give specific details, but he did mention that the POTC will be much improved and and will be quite comparable to the attraction both in Ca. and Paris. Lindsay did mention that there will be exclusive features that will only be found in the Florida POTC. Like I mentioned, no details were said, but it was refreshing and exciting to hear that the attraction will be enhanced in the very near future. It was not mentioned, but it seems the re-opening of the attraction with the added features will coinside with the release of the next movie. It was said the the addition of Jack Sparrow will be nice, but is not the largest enhancement that will come to the attraction.

For the WDW POTC ride to be comparable to the Disneyland one would require an extension that is about one third the current size. To me, adding a few extra touches and figures does not make the ride comparable. Extending the ride would!! And I do not believe for one moment that Disney is going to extend this ride. Then again i did read somewhere that the ride would close for 18 months to 2 years for a rehab. Surely even Disney would not take 2 years to spruce up this ride. Two years to me sounds more like a rebuild or extension. That is assuming of course that the rumours are true in the first place of which 99% of the time they are not.
