Has anyone been able to find a Pirates of the Caribbean lunchbox or backpack anywhere besides The Disney Store or Disney online? I don't particularly like theirs. I am doing a Pirates theme for a back-to-school gift for my godson, and I've found a folder, notebook, pens, and T-shirt, but no lunchbox or backpack anywhere! I know they exist because I've seen them on eBay, but I'd rather not pay shipping. Thanks for any help! pirate:

We were at Toys R' Us the other day and they had Pirates of the Caribbean movie merchandise in their Back-to-School dept, including a backpack. But they were just about sold-out in everything for POTC, where they had lots of stock for everything else so I'd try to get there quickly if at all possible.

Good luck in your hunt! pirate:

Thank you! Do you happen to remember how much the backpack was?

Anyone else see them in another store?

i think i saw some at target recently but did'nt pay attention to the price since this would not be a permitted article at ds's school. i think the bulk of their backpacks are on sale now-maybe 25% off?

Thanks, but my Target didn't have any. And just curious, why wouldn't your son's school allow such a backpack? Even in private schools, I've never heard about requirements for a backpack.

I got the backpack at Toys r Us yesterday and it was 14.99 plus you could get free lunchbox. DS picked out Star Wars and I can say for sure if there was a Pirates one.

The Disney store online, has the matching POTC back pack and lunch box. You can monagram the backpack. $16.95 for teh backpack $8.95 for teh lunchbox. I ordered mine but, It hasn't arrived yet.

A lot of schools have backpack requirements, more specifically they don't allow backpacks or they have to be see through packs.

How old is your Godson? Since you are saying "back to school" I would assume at least 1st grade? I would be careful buying a character backpack for someone any older than 1st grade or so. It might not be cool to have one.

I was able to get the backpack/free lunchbox deal from Toys R Us. What a great deal! Thanks for everyone's help! pirate:

I've never heard of a backpack restriction in elementary school. I can see the need in middle/high school because of safety issues.
My godson is 7 and going into 2nd grade. I teach 3rd grade myself, so I'm very conscious as to what is "cool" or not at this age level. I figure that I'm safe choosing Pirates, because it's not a cartoon character. I figure that this is probably the last year I'll be able to get a character backpack for him. :guilty: It's sad, really. You know that these kids still watch cartoons at the ages of 9-10, so why is it "uncool" to have such a backpack or lunchbox? Here's the real confusion - T-shirts seem to be more acceptable. :confused3
