What does it say when you're entering the main portion of the ride, after the "battle scene"? I think it's either the scull or a pirate talking? Anyone remember?

After the battle scene is the scene where they are "dunking" the mayor in a well. The only thing I remember being said (which I am sure there is more) is "don't tell 'em Carlos..."

I'm no expert on Disneyland's Pirates (having only ridden a handful of times - but adding to that in a week and a half), but I have ridden WDW's at least 100 times. So, I'll take a shot at this question.

I think you are asking about one of two different brief speeches. The first comes before the first of the two drops, and is in a raspy voice that goes something like this:

"You come seeking adventure and salty old pirates, eh? Sure, you've come to the proper place. But keep a weathered eye open, mates; and hold on tight, with both hands, if you may. There be squalls ahead, and Davy Jones waiting for them what don't obey."

Then, as you are travelling through the last tunnel before the battle scene (at WDW it's right after the splashdown - so it is very hard to hear) you hear (in the same voice, but louder and echoing):

"No fear have ye of evil curses, says you? Ah, properly warned ye be, says I. Who know's when that evil curse will strike the greedy beholders of this bewitched treasure."

Followed by what sounds like a very old, and frail pirate who states:

"Perhaps you know too much, You've seen the cursed treasure. You know where it be hidden. Now procede at your own risk. These be the last friendly words you'll hear. You may not survive to pass this way again."

I hope I got that right. If I didn't, I'm sure someone can correct me.

Sounds about right to me. After the second drop, immediately follows an echoey "Dead men tell no tales!" in the caves. Sometimes, we come down the second drop and don't hear that! Then, after the scenes with the Captain's Quarters and the Treasure Room, you start to hear again "Dead men tell no tales!" and then those other lines following.

there is a web site called tellnotales.com they have many audio clips from the ride. You can probably find what your looking for.
