We rode POC on 12/16 and there were some parts not working--specifically the pirate projected on the "waterfall"--no pirate/no waterfall and no splashes from shots fired between the ship and the fort.
We were at the MK this morning (and yesterday). There was a sign up yesterday that said it was closed all day. This morning, we had a FP+ for 11:25-12:25, and at 9:30 I got an email telling me that my FP+ was cancelled because the ride was "temporarily unavailable." This was the first time that I got the FP+ cancellation email two hours before my scheduled FP+ time, and knowing PoTC was closed the day before, I figured that it was going to be down all day.
We left the park at noon and swung by PoTC one last time to see if it had reopened...it had not. Talked to one of the CMs stationed in front of the ride and he said that it was down this morning due to technical difficulties that they hoped to reopen it in the afternoon. Too late for us since we were catching DME back to the airport at 1:30.
We only got to ride it once earlier in the week (on the 14th) and as others mentioned, a bunch of the elements weren't working. It was really disappointing. It was also irritating that the experiences they gave us to replace PoTC were a joke.
Here's an update on PoC...
We rode it around 2:00am (the morning of the 22nd) and sat in the last row!!! Yep, the last row wasn't roped off on any boats.
The mist with the Black Beard projection was working. The mermaids were not.
The only thing I noticed was that there was a higher "bumper" on the right at the bottom of the drop. Not sure if that was added with the new boats or was just added.
Oh, and no one got wet, even the front row.
