I was on Ebay a couple of weeks ago and found an auction for a plastic mold of the Pirates Logo from the 60's. I had to work the evening that the auction ended.. so I asked my husband to bid on it.. he did and he lost! I want one! Any one know anything about this? I'll figure out how to add a link to the auction so you can see what I'm talking about.

Ebay Item # 2184345701

Try and contact the seller of the item. He may have a few of them. Ya never know. And welcome to the DIS. Here is a picture of what she is looking for...

The item in question is actually a molded styrene plastic vacuum formed "bonus" piece that was included in all of the plastic model kits from the "Walt Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean" series produced by MPC (Model Products Company, a division of General Mills), beginning in 1973. It really isn't a "mold". There were seven kits in the series:

1-5001 Dead Men Tell No Tales
1-5002 Hoist High the jolly Roger
1-5003 Condemned to Chains
1-5004 Fate of the Mutineers
1-5005 Dead Man's Raft
1-5006 Ghost of the Treasure
1-5007 Freed in the Nick of Time

The series featured "ZAP Action", meaning that some pieces of the finished model moved by rubber band power. Cool set of kits!

Take a look on eBay for the most recent prices of the kits. I'd guess that the popularity of the recent film will boost prices.
