I haven't been to DL since Pirate's Lair opened. This will be a solo trip. Is it something I really need to include in my trip?

Well I would say no, unless you are really into walking on dirt paths and climbing on "pirate" hideouts. I think it is a great area to take a picnic lunch over to though if you need a break from the park.

I personally would pass it up. You can ride the Mark Twain and get a good look around the whole island. Its dusty and more often than not crowded with little ones running to and fro.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I just wanted to ask someone who'd been there!

If you like or love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and have 2+ days, then it might be worth it. There are a lot of movie references and some kind of cool things in the caves (if you don't mind weaseling your way through them).

Otherwise, as others suggested, you can miss it.

Thanks for the input, guys! I think I'll just see how it goes. If I have extra time, I might do it. If not, I'll skip it.

If your going solo, then you probably won't enjoy it much. I enjoyed it wiht my son, and felt like it was a good place to get a break from the park. my son enjoyed exploring and climbing and just being able to move more freely about. On ou rupcoming trip I won't be going to PL but i know that my DH and DS will be over tehre alot- they like that sort of thing.
