Pirates FP coming

According to POTC CM I spoke with today, Pirates is getting a FP. Not sure when but this year seemed likely. Hope it's true.

I think SMD said re the other site to verify it's not just another "CM Rumour" aka "CM is bored and talking $hit" but is an actual planned addition

Maybe they will only have FP open on the busier days. Since I seem to go on the busiest days, I've been several times in the last year where the line was really long to where I didn't even bother to check how long the wait time would be. If the line goes down to popcorn cart in the courtyard between the French Market and the Haunted Mansion - I already know it's way too long for me without checking the times.

Generally speaking, it doesn't "need" a FP, but perhaps they want to make more FP rides so they can get more people to buy the $10. MaxPass thing.

You can't sell a new service without lots of inventory to entice people to pay up.

I must be in the minority who would like to see FP come to Pirates. The line in the afternoon always seems to get really crazy. It's a fast loader, but I think this would help to alleviate some of the congestion.

Pirates is located in the perfect spot of chaos. People coming in from Adventureland, people going into Adventureland, people coming from Frontierland, people going to Frontierland, people trying to get to HM, people entering the extended Pirates line, people cutting the extended Pirates line, and so on and so forth. I think if they designed it in a way to alleviate some of that through FP, it would be a big help.

Why do people ever think FP is a good thing? Don't you understand how it works? Pirates can put through ~2500 people per hour. The line moves fast. By adding a Fastpass line, you are killing Standby. Fastpass is never needed, ever.

Pirates certainly does not NEED a FP with the system as it stands now...but there is little doubt in my mind that the driving factor with making that attraction...and others...FP accessible is to lay the groundwork for the future Fastpass 2.0 system and ride reservations...in whatever form that may ultimately take on.

I agree that Pirates doesn't need a FP. Same time, those who grab a FP for Pirates will be unable to grab FP's for other rides. Win win?

I'm also in the minority that I would have loved a fast pass option for Pirates when I went earlier this month. I love the ride but waiting an hour in the blazing sun killed me. I wish it at least had a larger indoor queue.

I don't think so. The CM I spoke with felt it was coming but not in the immediate future. Also, I think the refurb is only slated for six weeks. If that's accurate, it wouldn't seem like enough time to put in a FP lane. However, I could be wrong.
