Pirates down all day 2/20/20

Any insight? Pirates went down I think around 12/1 pm. Still hasn’t come back up. Around 2:30 we were near the entrance and a CM (not frontline, seemed like a higher up) states that the part to fix it had just been delivered, but they didn’t know how long it would be down for.

We had 2 minutes earlier seen a mechanic type CM heading into the exit of the ride.

Hoping it’s back up for tomorrow!

Trying to get information, my elderly mother went up to the front line CM and asked if “the body had been fished out of the water yet”.

The look on their faces was priceless. They assured her it was just mechanical. Wonder how many rumors got started with that one.


Any insight as to what happened?

That is priceless! What a fun mom . Is she a Disney vet or just that much of a cut-up everywhere? Awesome.

Not quite a Vet. She took us all when we were kids, but hasn’t come much since. But we’re here with my nephew and whole family, (her grandson).

She also asked them when they said no body if “they’d vacuumed the ashes out of the water yet”. I thought the poor CP CM was going to have a heart attack.

Such a bummer when a high capacity ride goes down like that because times elsewhere in the park inflate. It was down almost the entire day on Christmas 2019 (power outage in one section) and it really made a difference in FP waits elsewhere when they all turned to anytime FPs.
