Hi friends!! I know everyone here is pre-disposed to LOVE the Disney dining experiences (myself included!), but I'm hoping we can get some advice on the Pirates Dinner Adventure restaurant. DH and I are heading down to Orlando with my two boys (ages 5 and just-turned 1.) on Feb. 18th with my in-laws. They want to take us to the Pirates dinner and while researching it, i've encountered some HORRIBLE reviews on the place. I was hoping that you all had some input. Most of the reviews were from the perspective of the parent (i.e. the food was horrible, the "forced" tipping, etc....) rather than the child, which is all I really care about. Any advice or comments?? Thanks!

My husband and I went last year and it was ok for us but I remember saying to him while we were there that kids would really love it. There was a lot of audience interaction especially for kids. Your 5 yr old would like it.

Our family went last year, my daughters were 6 and 15 at the time and they absolutely loved it. Both of them got to participate, although we did pay for the VIP seating which helps in getting picked to join in. The food as I recall wasn't terrible but wasn't that good either. I enjoyed it, more than anything watching the girls having so much fun, but my husband really didn't like it.

What is the Pirates Dinner Adventure? Is it through Disney? I have only seen the pirate Adventure thru the Grand Floridian, but that's kids only.... not a dinner... What am I missing?? My DS7 would FLIP over a pirate dinner!!!!!

Went last year and chose it based on the theme and the price. We got very discounted tickets from Ticketmania. Kids loved it, DS (he's a teen) was chosen to be an audience pirate. Our pirate was great, involved with his cheering section. Food was average, nothing special...the advantage is there is a buffet before the show and preshow so they could eat chips, salads, pasta, ham......preshow, then in to regular show. I don't know that any of these dinner shows have great food. At beginning before/during the preshow there they also had photos, face painting, snake/tarot lady (charges) a gift shop, little museum........ The regular show acrobatics were good, kept the show moving. After show was a dance, we only stayed a few minutes. The place is older but then it is pirate time and fit. Kids really had a great time !

There are quite a few Dinner/Shows close to Disney and this is one of them. None are Disney businesses. Pirates, Dolly Parton western type, Medieval Times, Nascar, Arabian Nights, Luau at Sea World............not cheap.

There are really alot of good things to do in Orlando outside of Disney. Here is the Pirate's dinner show website.

snake/tarot lady QUOTE]

Was this a real snake?????

Yeah, and I hate snakes :scared1: but she was in her own little "shop" but you could watch through the window. She also brought it out to the show, but you could stay back, way back.......All set up like a village type town around the big room, so you go into these little shops for each thing you are interested in.
