I can't beleive no one around here has sat all the way through the end credits of Pirates of the Caribbean....

There's more than just the name of Mr. Depp's executive assistant (as opposed to just his regular assistant).

I'm sure there are people who caught a little monkeying around at the end -
DR

I did!!

Saw the movie on opening day and sat through the credits just because I had to know if there was anything. In fact, I've been twice and both times I was the only one to stay til the end (along with the people who came with me).

I was glad to see the clip and of course the speculation is widespread that it's a hint to a sequel.

So I caught the name of Depp's Executive Assistant, and I was a bit embarrassed that I didn't immediately get the joke - Christi Dembrowski??

Then, I got home and checked the web, turns out she's his assistant on other films as well.

Maybe I caught the wrong name, I thought she was listed as the "executive assistant." Did I miss something?

Please clarify what you are referring to. I saw the monkey scene ... as for the executive assistant, I'm unclear about this! TIA~

I think he was just saying that you would have to wait for a lot of credits to get to the last little scene - he was giving the example of Depp's personal assistant as a way of saying their were a lot of names up there.

I would've stayed until the end but they started running these vacuums...

Now THAT is funny...

You know, at the movie theater I usually go to, they don't even send in the sweepers until the credits are done... Guess they don't know they are a business and need to be more efficient...

;)

No kidding - drivers, medics, personal assistants - I understand giving credit to those that physically worked ON the movie itself, on or off screen, like the actors, stuntpeople, special effects artists, etc. But when you get down to who delivered the Krispy Kreme doughnuts & coffee every morning, that's just nuts.

So you wait through a million credits to scroll by, and then you get a 90 second tidbit. :)

I'm hoping there's a lot more fun stuff like that on the DVD when it finally comes out.

ARRGGHH!

I knew we shouldn't leave! But the theatre we were in cut all the lights on, once they did that it was easy to believe there was nothing left.....

I agree...hope there is more on the DVD!

They will probably do a pre-order of it like they do all the other Disney movies. Does that mean I get a life size photo of Capt Jack with my pre order? Please!!! LOL

My DH and I ALLWAYS stay for the entire credits. To me it's like leaving a play while people are taking bows on stage. lol.

We were the only ones who stayed for the whole thing. And I agree the credits for this seemed much longer than usual but it was worth the wait.

I know it was probably to set up the sequel, but my dh was mad that the monkey was "bad" again. I pointed out if he wasn't immortal he probably couldn't get off the island. (I loved the walking under water scene). So we chalked it up to self preservation :)

Now that I know I wsn't the only one thinking it, and since there has been some discussion about the movie here, can I ask what you guys think?

*Spoiler* below, so highlight to read...

<font color="FFEBD7">Do you all think the sequel will have Will's Father (Bootstrap) returning, or do you think he died in the ocean. I had thought this but hadn't seen anyone post on it. Therefore I thought I was clueless... LOL

<font color="00000"> I just wondered if anyone here thought this as well...

---Spoiler-----

Yeah, Robin, we talked about that too. I think it killed him when the curse was lifted. At least I think that is what I last agreed with....maybe he had cut himself loose in 8 years though...I'm going to have to go see it again, I guess.

* * * SPOILER DISCUSSION * * *

Okay - he was down there a loooooong time - do you think that in that time he would've found a way out?? I don't picture him calmly laying down there twiddling his thumbs. So it's plausible he'd freed himself before the curse was lifted, and is now human again (to quote a bad Beauty & the Beast song).

Additionally, I figure they toss him down there when there was no moonlight. So the chains and whatnot are wrapped around his body. Skeleton bodies, well, are a whole lot skinnier than 'real' bodies! So, Bootstrap sinks with his 'real' body, then moonlight comes along, and poof, he's free! Real easy! And he doesn't need to worry about the bends or drowning, since, well, he's undead.
I just hope he's not getting in a fight somewhere, thinking he's undead, when they lift the curse! :p

EXACTLY! I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought so!

There are however lots of plots they could pursue...I just got on that when we left the theatre, thinking about a sequel. I just couldn't remember now if he was in on getting the treasure or not.

Yes he was

Because remember them telling Will that they got rid of his dad before they realized they needed his blood to lift the curse -- they wouldn't need his blood if he wasn't cursed as well (i.e. in on the treasure).
