Is this for younger kids?

Also, I read somewhere that the day ticket price is around 42 usd. Would this still be the same price if you have a myw ticket?

Disney has just released dates for August and since we are there at that time we may just have to go check it out :cool1:

We were at the Party on March 8th. It was a great time. The Parade and Fireworks were amazing. The price for admission is still the same even if you have tickets for the party. They do however let you in for the party starting around 4pm, and around 7pm they stop letting people without party wrist bands on the rides. My DD's are 11 and 7. By about 11pm they had had enough and we left. But we got in more rides between 4pm and 11pm than we would if we had of been there for the whole day. Most rides were walk on others had maybe a 5-10 min wait. We loved it and would definitely do it again.

We were there for the Feb. 26 party. We went in at about 4 and stayed until 12:30. The lines were basically non-existant at 4. We walked right on Splash Mountain.

It was a lot of fun. There are areas marked with a big X that give out chocolates or beads to put in the booty bags that they provide (little black pouches). There are tons of characters out for pictures and the fireworks and parade were very well done.

Since we rarely go to Disney but go to Universal instead, for $40 this gave us an opportunity to visit when we probably wouldn't have because of the normal ticket cost.

Go, you'll enjoy it!!!

I would highly recommend this party and the Halloween party!
These parties are for kids of all ages, not just little ones. We also were at the March 8th party and showed up at around 5:30. We learned at the Halloween party that there is no hurry to do the rides, as the night goes on the lines just get shorter and shorter. We grabbed a bite to eat and found a good place to watch Wishes at 7. From there we rode EVERY ride between 730-1230 with 5 min being the longest wait. We skipped the first parade but watched the second; I think this helped with ride wait times. Also the fireworks are worth the price of admission and shouldn’t be missed.
We are 32 and 29 and learned at the Halloween party that people tend to dress up for these events. That being said we weren’t dressed up for Halloween but I bought a POTC ball cap and a plastic “Captain Hook” hook and my girlfriend wore a princess tiara. It wasn’t much but we felt a little more in the spirit of the party. I’d say about 70% of the people dressed up for each of the parties, but we didn’t feel uncomfortable not being dressed up for the Halloween party.
As for ticket prices, the only discount is advance purchase, which I think is $6 off. I ordered my tickets from Disney and picked them up at our resort (POFQ) when we checked in. This is a special event so your myw tickets do not help in any way.
BTW we rode BTM 3 times without having to get off the train.

The tickets are 36.95 if purchased anytime before the DAY OF...

Purchase the DAY OF and the tickets are 42.95 (or thereabouts)

We went on March 5th and it was awesome. Road Big Thunder at 11:00 at night 2x without even getting off the ride.

I recommend that you use that as your day in the park instead of wasting a full ticket, spend the time at the pool or waterpark and then go in at 4:00.

Make sure you dress up...it was a blast

I was trying to decide for August as well. You have convinced me.:dance3:

We were there on March 8 as well and had a fantastic time. As others have said, the rides were walk-ons. We did Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 3X in a row without getting off - our kids were just thrilled. We rode Buzz over and over again, and saw tons of characters that you don't normally see (Mickey and Donald in pirate costumes, the evil stepmother and the two stepsisters, who were hilarious, Princess Jasmine, Genie and Abu, etc.). The fireworks were the best we have ever seen, and the atmosphere in the park was great. We would highly recommend it too!
