We did this with DS when he was age 4 in 2009. Check the details in case something changed. Great time! And a nice alternative if you are not going to the Halloween/Christmas party one night. Met at the Contemporary Resort and got a pirate bandana and had a snack fest.... lots and lots of packaged snacks and drinks - sodas, waters, coffee, etc.. We were encouraged to load up on snacks and take them to go... (we always carry a small backpack...and filled it up quite a bit!). Met Captain Hook and Mr. Smee there. Then we were led to the boats and on the water had a very perfect view of the electric boat parade (never can remember the actual name) and the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Answered Disney quiz questions to win trinket prizes, was read a brief Peter Pan Story and met Peter Pan on the dock when we got back. JUST ONE NEGATIVE.... no bathrooms on the boats.... but you are warned several times to empty out before boarding. But if anyone has issues with that, might not be a good idea. But, there's one more negative... when we went, the cost was nearly as much as going to the Halloween/Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.... I'd rather do that (even a 2nd time). Although $$$, we liked going to the Halloween/Christmas Party twice during our usual 10 day trips. Gave us much more time to do everything and meet all the characters... but if characters are not important... once is probably enough.
