Has anyone been to the pirate or medievil dinner shows? How far are they from Anaheim? Are they any good? What type of food do they serve? I would like to surprise my husband but not sure if it is worth it or not????

We did the pirate show in April and really enjoyed it. The food was average, the show was great. Get there about 1 hour before and stock up on the appetizers they serve before the show, that was good. We all got picked to do something in the show which made it special for us. Some would probably say it's not worth the money but my kids(11 & 8) really enjoyed it so that's all that mattered.

The two shows are very close to each other, and just up the street from Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park. According to Google maps, it's about a 7.5 mile drive from Disneyland. You would take the 5 Freeway to Beach Blvd.

I did Medevil times with my hubs. It was too expensive for what it was. I got a 1/2 coupon in the entertainment book. The food was so so. Not gross, but it wasn't worth the money. The show was pretty entertaining, and there were generous portions of food. I think two non-alcoholic beverages came with the dinner, but beyond that was extra charge. The extras were theme park priced.

If it's a one time thing, you will probably enjoy it. I have never done the pirate one, so can't compare. but look for discounts (internet, etc). Have fun!

Well for me Medievaltimes rules (see my name lol). I have been there at least over 50 times. My wife and I love it. you get to pick your drinks beer or soda. Beer you get two refills. with a cool waitress sometimes they give more. feel free to e-mail me with any questions. i have all the answers and tons of pictures.

i also have done pirates. Medievaltimes is the better of the two. For a guy medievaltimes is better because its fighting. pirates have some singing in it and thats not for me lol

I just can't get over the price of the pirates show, it's like $60 or close to it.

couple more bucks and you can just do Disneyland and ride pirates of the carribean till your can sing it backward and in french. lol

How long is the pirate dinner show? as for singing sounds like pirates of penzance :)

I really enjoyed the time we took a church youth convention to Medieval Times. We bought out the whole place except for a few families that were there. We loved rooting for our knight and shouting "Another flagon of Dr. Pepper Wench!"

We did the Pirate show (wife and kids 4 and just turned 2 at the time) and thought it was excellent. As another poster said get there early..think the open up the lounge an hour or hour and a hlaf before show time. They load you up on appetizers (we had cheese/meats and shrimp with cocktail sauce). There's an open bar with all sorts of goodies.

They also warm the crowd up with a mini-show and call up people to participate. I agree there more of a "show" going with acrobatics going on with singing but overall a good time. The food was great and you can choose between chicken or steak. It was plenty. You also can get 2 beers..and you can get more if you want as the pitcher seemed endless..at least when we went. The only time it got noisy, at least for the kids, was when they were shooting their pirate guns.

It may seem a little expensive but think of it as a dinner and a show..which in the end it really is.

We have done both. They both have their good points but honestly, for us Pirates wins. LOL MT is super dark and you can't see what you're eating, Pirates is brighter (still dark but you can see your plate) and you can pick what you want to eat. Pirates also has better choices for kids and appetizers before. They are both expensive and have hot guys but I have to say I did love the fighting at MT. We have some pics of sparks just flying off those swords..I was impressed! LOL
If given a choice, my kids would pick Pirates, I would pick MT.

We've been to both, and personally, I liked Medieval Times better. I think Pirates was fun, the appetizers were a great touch, and the show was very good. But, Pirates engages the crowd, and if people in your group are the "don't pick me" type, or don't like to play along, your enjoyment may be affected.

Medieval Times was more impressive to me. Although it is scripted, these people need real skill, and the only real audience participation is cheering for your knight.

As for food, it's decent at both places. You just need to keep in mind that they are cooking for the masses, and that shows, but it's still enjoyable.

does any one has coupon code for the medieval times california??????

i need to buy them online
i will be there sept 3 2008

thanks

We've done both and our family; myself, DH, DD8, DD5 all love Pirates. In fact we're going back in Oct.
