Pirates and Haunted Mansion Movies!!

Yea! This summer Disney is releasing Pirates of the Caribbean with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom!!! With that combination, it seems as though this movie will be a sure fire summer blockbuster!!! Go to Disney online the link to entertainment, and then link to Disney Pictures to get the movie poster, etc.
Also this summer Disney is going to release The Haunted Mansion.
I have the movie poster, but it doesn't say who will be staring in it. Does anyone know who'll be in it?? Although I love these rides, and I think its great that they're being turned into movies. But it seems a little sad that imagination has in some way run out, because it has come to this. Hopefully they'll come with some ideas for more great movies, that is before they turn the Matterhorn into a movie as well!!
Well gotta go, but please relay me any info on these movies!! Thanks a bunch!!

Pirates Of The Carribbean will hopefully be good, but the competition is going to be stiff - Xmen 2, Matrix 2, The Hulk, Terminator 3, Charlie's Angels 2...


Haunted Mansion on the other hand...
Anything they could do wrong on this project, they are:
-It'll be Dr. Doolittle meets Casper & it's staring Eddie Murphy.

-Instead of releasing it releasing it a couple weeks before Halloween (which makes perfe ct since to anyone with half a brain), they're releasing it a month afterwords!

-It's going up against Matrix 3, Cat In The Hat & The Last Samurai.

The buzz on both of these movies has been pretty negative, from poor scripts to the director of Pirates specfiying "more explosions." We can hope that they'll rise above these issues.

Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of Pirates, has been putting in a lot of time and energy lately to try and bring across the message that his film will be nothing at all like the ride at WDW. In fact, he advises that the film will not be appropriate for kids. It seems that this movie will have it's fair share of violence and gore. His quote is "It's scary stuff". He showed some pictures of pirates with flesh eaten away at their faces, and a general grimy and nasty disposition.

Pirates will star Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush and Orlando Bloom.

Regarding Haunted Mansion, I don't think it stands a chance if it's current November release date holds up(FYU, Mansion's story line will be completely different from the rides at WDW & Disneyland). It's currently slated to open the same weekend as Matrix 2, which should translate into worse numbers for Mansion than Gangs did against Lord of the Rings when they opened the same weekend last month. Gangs never recovered after that. I suspect Mansion would suffer the same fate.

The live action version of cat in the hat, starring Michael Myers, opens a week apart, offering further resistance.
