Pirates and CA Screamin

Hi Everyone! I saw on Hydroguy's historical closures thread that Pirates and Screamin with be closed during October 2015. I cannot find any information about this anywhere else online. Anyone know how accurate this is? Those are two of my favorites, and I'm going in October!

Right! I'm taking my boyfriend in October, he's never been and loves roller coasters! And I definitely feel like Pirates of the Caribbean is a ride you NEED for the full Disney experience. I know we'll still have an amazing trip...but I'm feeling sorry for myself right now lol.

If you read the first post of the thread, third paragraph here's what Hydroguy notes....

CAUTION - Do not use future month's information below beyond about one month as DLR only provides schedules 4-8 weeks in advance. Thus no one knows what will actually happen out further than that. Use past month's information below to project to the future.

For future refurbs, the DIS schedule on wdwinfo is recommended: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/plan.htm#rehab


If anyone has a creditable source for refurbishment please post for October.

From what I have heard both those rides aren't going to be down for refurbishment, but as you know with DL things change sometimes with short notice . Hopefully it won't be down for anyone's trip! I know Screamin was down a few years ago in October for a refurb, but that doesn't really help the present.

We love DLR to bits, but the last minute thing with park hours and closures does frustrate me.

Fingers crossed Screamin won't be down while we're there. That's really the one ride that could be a deal breaker for us. OK, and RSR. And probably a few more.

Thanks! I did read that, I was just wondering if anyone knew where the information came from. I couldn't figure out why Oct 2015 would have those closures listed if there wasn't a reason for it. I really wish DL would give us a little more than 2 months to figure things out I'll have paid for everything by then lol.

If possible it would help avoid threads like this if DIS could disable browsing to future calendar months.

Hope that's not true, I'm hoping to bring some first-timers in October and Pirates is a MUST. I'll delay the trip if it's not open.

The short answer is that is just how the DIS calendar system works. Apparently they cannot "turn off" future months. So until there is actual info to put there it tends to just use the previous year's info as a placeholder or something like that.

The absolute, sure fire way to know if Pirates will be closed, is for me to plan a trip. Seriously, it has been closed EVERY time I've been to DL since 1999! My poor kids have never ridden it. I'm planning a trip for March 2016, it will be closed, that's my personal guarantee

Oh Darn-it!
We're planning to be there March 9th thru March 12th. Looks like Saturday will be our only chance then...

Now I should also let you know Pirates has never been down during any of our trips. So if you find Pirates open in March you can thank me.
