I’ve not been considering Pirates Adventure because I thought you had to pay to get the map and Sorcerors is free so I was sticking with that. But it appears that Pirates is free too. True?

Does it get long lines like Sorcerors can get? We plan to have the kids do Pirates League on our Sat at MK. It should be more fun being dressed up but Sat being a busy MK day and our last day that might not be a good idea.

Touring Plans says that as of April last year you get an FP to PotC after completing the first two missions. Still true?

The Disney website said it was open 12 to 6 pm but TP said it is open for evening EMHs and that the effects are cooler in the evening. Anyone done it after 6 pm?

Pirates is free and a lot of fun. Opinions differ, but I liked it more than Sorcerors (mostly due to the practical effects and the "hidden in plain sight" nature of most of the interactive elements - things I'd walked by dozens of times in Adventureland and had no idea they were part of the game). It's also a lot of fun to watch other guests' reaction when you activate one of the stations - my favorite is the small cannon that sends out a lot of smoke in front of POTC when you've got a lot of people standing around.

There are 5 maps - each takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. There's a "collector's card" for each completed map, and a bonus card for completing all five. They also will provide paper FP+s for POTC - although the rules seem to vary with the CM on duty (we were being offered FP+s for each map completed, but I think the rules say 2 completed maps or something).

The lines aren't too bad - only a couple of times did we have to wait. Most people don't know about this - the sign-up hut is nondescript and there's not much advertising.

Only done it during the day - but I suspect it's better at night. There are lighting elements on some of the effects that don't show during the day.

We have played it twice now, only takes a couple of hours if you want to do all of the maps. We didn't experience much in the way of waiting, for most of the locations we were the only one's there. We got our paper FP+ after finishing the last map, but I suspect that depends on whether you want to keep playing or not. I would think that if you are ready to quit after the 2nd, they would offer the FP+ then.

We enjoy the adventure quite a bit. The physical props are nice, and as a PP pointed out, something you walk by all the time in the park, and never realize is there.

I love the hidden in plain site nature to Agent P too. You can start to spot the logo in places where you haven’t yet done missions after you know what it is.

I wonder if the 12-6pm is when the hut with maps is open but you can still do missions later.

Speaking of, where is the hut?

Although I can't say for sure, it seems like you would be able to do the missions later (or at least one map's worth). Similar to Sorcerors, the CMs at the sign-in hut will help link your MagicBands to the game so you can activate the sensors at the stations - but I'd think the sensors still work even if the hut is closed. You do have to go back to the hut after completing each map to pick the next one and start again.

The hut (the Crow's Nest) is located just outside Adventureland on the main pathway as you're headed towards Frontierland (and after you've passed by PoTC and Tortuga Tavern). IIRC it's the first thing on the left after you pass under the arch to leave Adventureland.

We only did this once but it was so much fun! My only complaint is we had a group in front of us and we would see them activate the different stations beforehand, so we didn’t get that initial surprise when we did it. Lots of fun though!
