What's the best way to get from HoJo (or the DL main gate area) to the Pirate's Dinner Adventure? I see the route on the ART, but it looks like it stops at 9pm. I'm assuming the show won't be over until 9:30 or so? We are trying to avoid renting a car.

We took a cab when we did the Pirate's dinner.
I asked for flat rate and it was $20 each way.
We met several people there that were from DLR. In fact when the show was over a few even cab-pool back to the resort area to save a few dollars.

There is a "Buy One Ticket, Get One Ticket Free" coupon on anaheimoc.org/coupons. Good until April 2015, I believe.

Glad you posted this ... We had planned to use ART ... Hadn't considered that it would stop earlier than the show let's out. Hmm, guess Plan B is needed ... There are 8 of us, so two cabs minimum ... Makes for a much more expensive night out.

We did the Pirate Adventure and it was horrible. The food was not even so-so. The acting was not *** good as a high school play.

Called to reserve today. Going on a Sunday, so show starts at 6:30 ... Told it runs 90 mins so should let out at 8:00ish, which means we should be able to get the last ART bus back to DLR. (Plan B will be to take cabs if we miss the bus.)

Think it would be tight with a 7:00 pm show since ART picks up at 28 min past the hour if I'm reading the schedule right.

fWIW, In the summer months it appears there are two shows on weekends ... No ART issues with the late afternoon showtimes.

The Pirate show is awful. It is less entertaining than a high school musical.

We went to a the second show on Sunday, August 17th ... doors opened at 5PM, show started at 6:30 PM.

Used ART to get there AND back. No issues ... we were staying at the VGC, so used the DLR Transport pickup area. The last bus picked up at the stop near Pirate's Dinner at about 8:30 PM. Bus was not busy on either run ... us and one other family on the way out (they went to Medieval Times) and an additional couple plus the other family and us on the way back.

Got buy-one, get-one free tickets using the VISITCA discount. For basically $35 each (including the ART round-trip fare) it was a great night out. Telephone staff were super friendly and easy to deal with when purchasing tickets.

All of us (2 grandparents, 3 adults, 3 young boys) really enjoyed the show. Yes parts of it were cheesy, but there was definitely some acrobatic skill and interesting special effects on display. Was it Broadway calibre entertainment? Definitely not, but we weren't expecting it to be.

The meal itself was good ... not fantastic, but more than acceptable. Our server was very attentive to everyone in our full section. We didn't purchase any adult beverages or souvenir items, so no comments there. Our family photo actually turned out very well ... not a easy feat with 8 people in the group (and the photographer only took one shot). (We bought it because we actually wanted to, not because we felt like we had too.)

My only complaint was that the pre-show area got a little congested and the pre-show itself was nothing to write home about. Both those issues could be avoided if you were ok with giving up the appetizers (which were tasty) and not arriving early.
