Pirate Tutorial Questions - please help!

Hi all -

i will be there for 2 days with my son on 4/17 and 4/18. I know it is going to be very busy, but he is obsessed with pirates and i really want to maximize his chance of being picked for the show. Any suggestions on times that are the best to hit, other ideas about what we can do? How early should we get there before the show. Does it help to have already done Pirate League and be dressed?

We were just there last week and my DD7 was chosen for the show. We got there about 15 min prior and she had come from the Pirates League. We were in the front row. She was also chosen when we first went 2 years ago - at that time, it was not on a stage but just outside POC. There was no Pirates League then either. Again she was in the front row. So your best bet is to get there a little early, get a great spot and have your son looking mighty eager to participate! Good luck!

Get there early. So few people do that. I had my son wear a Jack Sparrow bandanna with the dreadlocks coming out and he was picked because Jack "liked his sense of style." Also we have had luck with the first show not many people in that area then. My DS and DD loved being picked!

My dd was choosen, we were there early and were in the front row but they chose from all different areas of the crowd - none were dressed as pirates.

Dd was pretty shy and after you are supposed to say "look there goes the Govenor's daughter" and turn and run, she acutally ran down to us and had to be coaxed back up on stage. It was pretty cute.

In our experience the kids picked are not the ones decked out head to toe in pirate gear--I think Disney wants to get them hooked! and it worked, after being picked wearing mickey mouse shirts, both of my kids finished the tutorial and instantly wanted to go get pirate stuff!
