Does anyone know if there is some type of pirate ship attraction near Disney World or on either coast?
Yeah anything pirate. My son is obsessed with Pirates and I have been trying to find anything pirate based for him. There's a pirate dinner show in Orlando. Is that what you're looking for?

Fun for pirates of any age
Sail away with Captain Memo’s Original Pirate Cruise to a world complete with briny buccaneers and seafaring seadogs. Let the tropical island tunes guide your journey through the calm waters of the picturesque Gulf of Mexico.
Once onboard, enjoy a refreshing, complimentary beverage served by one of our many friendly pirates. For you older scallywags, embrace your pirate side with choice of free beer or wine or purchase your favorite libation at our full service bar. On our sunset cruises, take in on of the most breathtaking sights as the sun sets over the gulf producing incomparably colorful skies.
As we embark on our journey, soak up the sun and revel in the scenic views of Clearwater as we comb the horizon in search of dolphins. Get lost in the pirate antics during our two hour odyssey filled with fun for all ages including: a treasure hunt, face painting, water gun games, stories and dancing.
Thank you that would be great

Yeah I have not taken him to Seaworld yet. That may be worth checking out. ThanksNo, but you're reminding me of the water show they had at Sea World when I was little, which was a pirate show, and they sang a song that said, "Girls can be pirates, if they want to" and I will never forget that line and the tune, but can't remember anything else!

That’s a bummer that they don’t have the show anymore. I’m glad I know now that they have pirate ship pools. I had no clue that was even a thing. Yeah we will definitely have to check out mimi golf. ThanksSeaWorld is a GREAT park and absolutely worth a visit, but there is no longer a pirate show there.
Have you considered staying somewhere that has a pirate ship pool?
Vistana Villages [not Vistana Resort] has a pirate ship pool, as does the Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa.
You may also want to check out Pirates Cove Mini Golf (there is one on I Drive and another in Kissimmee).
There are two constructive things I can add here other than random 80s water shows!
1. Disney's pirate adventure cruises - different from the pirates and pals fireworks thing. My son did it one year leaving from Port Orleans Riverside and had a great time! https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/pirate-adventure-cruises/
2. Wyndam Bonnet Creek also has a pirate ship pool and the "story" of Bonnet Creek is a pirate story, so there is some theming in that vein, water cannons, etc.
LEGOLand has pirate themed rooms in their hotel, which might be great to combine two things boys like - pirates and Legos. There is also a pirate themed waterski show. Sounds random but actually a lot of fun.
Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf gets good reviews if your family wants some mini golf. I’ve not tried it myself, but the pictures look good.
Legoland is awesome sauce. I went with my kids last year, and it was so easy to combine the "bigger" rides the older kids liked with smaller play areas and rides for kids. There is also a nice little water park.I will look in to Lego land, I didn’t realize they had that. So apparently I need to do more research ha

If you go, look for the free-child-with-adult-admission deals. I know Honest Kid juice pouches have a promo code now, and I was also seeing them in the Lego magazine we got from our mall's Lego store this week.
