Pirate Ship in Grand Cayman??

My husband and I were in Grand Cayman a few years ago on another cruise line with several friends. We did a ship excursion that was on a "pirate ship" - it may have been called Valhalla or something like that. It was really fun - they stopped for us to snorkel and had a rope swing from the mast that we could swing out over the water and jump in, etc.
Now we're going on Disney Western itinerary with our kids and thought they would enjoy that, but it's not one of Disney's excursions. Has anyone that has been to Grand Cayman lately seen what I'm talking about? I wonder if they have a place near the tender dock that we could just sign up and go when we get there. I've tried checking on line and found some Grand Cayman sights that list "pirate ships" as a possible thing to do, but don't give any info as to how to book it or find them!
Thanks!

Hey, Mog...here's one that looks like a LOT of fun! Pirate Cruise.

Their description:
"In the 17th century, Grand Cayman was famous for being a safe harbor for pirates and their treasure. Today, many Caymanians are direct descendants of pirates. The Cayman Pirate encounter is a two hour coastal cruise that will take you back in time to the days of the pirate.

Sip rum and fruit punch as you watch traditional pirate antics being played out right in front of your eyes. Witness the Pirate Trial which ends in a fearsome sword fight. Don't forget to bring your swimsuits and snorkeling gear so you can explore the crystal-clear Cayman waters during the swim stop, with its spectacular reefs teaming with exotic sea life.

This cruise is great for kids who can fire the cannon, help hoist the mainsail, and make their brother or sister walk the plank at the end of a very blunt sword.

Days available: Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Length of Cruise: 2 Hours

Check-in Time: 2:30PM

Rates:
Adults - US$30.00

Children (3-12 years) - US$20.00

Children (0-2 years) - FREE

Included: Complimentary Unlimited Rum and Fruit Punch

Suggestions: Bring a your swim suit, a towel, sunscreen and a change of clothing. Bring snorkel gear for the swim stop."

Sorry, no mention of swinging from the masts. :) If I find another one, I'll post it here for ya.

Thanks - that is just the kind of thing I was looking for! I don't know why I couldn't find it in my search. Unfortunately, Disney is at Grand Cayman on Tuesday (I think) and that ship only sails on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! bummer!:(
If I missed that one, though, maybe I missed others. I'll keep searching!
thanks!

I would contact them and ask them if they would be willing to consider a tuesday sailing since every other week the Magic will be in town. Since the Pirate cruise is kid related, I'm sure a LOT of Disney families might be interested.

Just a thought... :)

Heck, the info on their web site might be old and they might even offer a tuesday sailing now. Ya just never know...Ok, I'm done rambling on....hehehe

That might be worth a shot. Judging from the pictures on the web site, they do seem to cater to families with kids. If they were smart, they'd do it on the day when the Magic is in town. Maybe I'll see if they have changed the schedule.

Could you post what you find out? thanks! :)

I just e-mailed them...I'll let you all know if I hear back!

Well, I just got an e-mail back from them. All it said was "Sorry, we only run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday"

Guess they don't want Disney business!! I found a link to a website for the Valhalla pirate encounter that we did before, but the website was no longer running - that doesn't bode well for them still being in business. Guess we'll have to find another idea for Grand Cayman!!

You would think the Jolly Roger would be more than happy to make extra money from DCL...oh well, their loss. :(

I did find out that the Valhalla is still operating, they just changed to a nightly dinner cruise, it sails around 5 or 6PM. :(

I hope you find an excursion that is as much fun as the pirate ship would have been. Good luck to you!
