I booked the Pirate\Princess Party for a family of five in Augest. I was just wondering what you do there. Also, if anyone has any pictures from the party please post them. Thanks.

We went in February, and if it's the same thing....It was AWESOME. The park was closed, unless you had a "ticket" to the party. There were special fireworks, dance parties, special character meets (the classic characters were in pirate/princess gear), Prince Eric was with Ariel in the Grotto (my DD's favorite part). You could walk on rides, and in fact could just stay on them. Food was limited (but that might be different now that they knew it was a hit). Special shows (Jack Sparrow), and places to get "loot"----mardi gras necklaces and chocolate. There was also a special parade, with a life size Tinkerbell!

We did BBB for our daughter, and took a gorgeous Ariel costume from home. She wore it all day, and then to the party. Our son wore a Jack Sparrow costume (bought on line....much cheaper!!). We actually stayed until the end with 2 four year olds and a pregnant mom! FUN FUN FUN.

Sorry, don't have pics on my computer yet, and I don't normally post pics of my kids.....

Have fun!

I am still debating doing the party because DS is 14 and DD is 11.
Anyone out there take older children?

I won't be much help with the older kids, but if the night you go is anything like our night ... I'm sure you'll enjoy the five minute "wait" for Space Mountain. We were so shocked, but no one was riding rides.

And, the teenage girls might like to meet Captain Jack. Mmmm ... he was dreamy. I have the picture next to my computer, and my 2 year old was terrified of him. She likes to look at the picture now and say "My mommy with the scary pirate." He wasn't scary at all, but he scared her to death.

If you're looking for characters, the PP is right, Prince Eric is out with Ariel in her grotto, I hear Pochantas and John Smith were out in Adventureland, and we met Prince Charming and Cinderella. My daughter about died when she met Prince Charming.

All in all it was awesome ... we're going back this August.

I am planing on taking my family (2 kids under 6) to the pirates and princess party in August. From what I have been reading the waiting times for the rides are shorter then during the day. On the day of the party i plan on going to the park in the morning, would it be wise to go back to the hotel and relax before the party? I'm guessing that the kids would be able to ride more rides during the party.

We are also going in August. Thanks for sharing your info. We are looking forward to it!:cool1:

Be sure to post when you get back and let us know how it was! We aren't going until the last one, Sept. 3rd.

Have Fun!!!

Thanks--you convinced me to go. DS11 and I will be there 8/28.

What time were you able to get into the park with your P&P party tickets? My cousin is there and would like to hang by the pool and then go about 4-4:30. Will this work?

Thanks

Just got our tickets:banana: !!!!! Going on 8/31 and are we psyched:jumping1: See ya there!

We were there last Saturday night (11th) and we had a great time but here are several things I noticed:

I saw several groups of people without bracelets on for the party that stayed all during the night and the disney people did not make them leave so I was bummed that I paid for $118 extra to go that night when we already had park hopper tickets, you see the park does not close at 7:00 but they just give you silver bracelets to put on when you come in with a special tickets that allows you to go treasure hunting and lots of people without bracelets were trasure hunting also

Parade was great

Rides lines are shorter (except 3 mountain) rides they were still 50-60 minutes and splash mountin was 90 minutes all night-we checked 3 different times

Fast passes not accepted for most rides at P&P party

Character lines in Toontown was 45 min all night but worth the wait to see Cinderella

Captin Jack Sparrow line was 90 minutes all night to meet him and get a picture taken

Lots of Jack Sparrow look a likes all over the park (visitors)!

It was fun but maybe not worth the extra money to go unless you are paying onyl for that night and I love the Pirates of the Car.

PM me for any questions.

Actually, none of the princes are out this time. The only guys out are Captain Jack and John Smith.

I just got back from Disney and also went to the Princess and Pirates party Aug 11. Was it worth it? I think so. My two oldest daughters 16 and 14 went on all of the rides they wanted to go on with very little wait. The only problem I encountered was when my 6 year old saw the last 5 mins of the Mickey Show while waiting for the parade. She lost it and wouldn’t stop crying for 10 mins. After the parade my wife decided to wait for the 2nd showing of the Mickey Show that was scheduled right after the fireworks. In the end my wife and I with my 6 and 4 year old sat in front of the castle for most of the evening. We did manage to go on a few rides and search for some treasure but I never expected to sit in front of the castle all night. The Mickey show ended around 10:30, after the show I headed straight to Arial and by that time my two youngest kids where ready to back to the hotel.

Yes my night didn’t go as planned but I’m guessing that is what happens when you travel with little kids. The important thing is my kids enjoyed the night, I enjoyed watching my little girls face when Tinkerbelle, and the other princesses walked by during the parade. I didn’t bother going to see any other characters because we ate breakfast at the castle and we had reservations for Chef Mickey.
