Yes! I'm 30 and bought one in the gift shop in May and wore it around the whole ship on pirate night.

Plastic swords are part of the package at The Pirates League and are available for sale in the gift shops. They are fine in both the dining rooms and at the deck party. My DD got one when she did The Pirates League and we have a picture of her with Mickey where it appears that she's about to engage in battle with Mickey.

You sure can! We use plastic swords from the dollar store and have no problems with airport security bag check or on the ship.
