I am a first time cruiser and I wanted to know about the pirate's night and the deck party. Is this something that is fun for people without children as well? I know that there are fireworks which is cool.. and the buffet which I will definitely need to get to. How long is the "show" part and when are the fireworks and buffet? Are you guys gonna be going to this?

Pirate Night is fun - even without kids. The menu in the dining room is sort of pirate themed with caribbean flavors. Then there is a deck party where the characters come out and do a show with a fireworks ending - can't remember how long it was - maybe 15 minutes at the most. :confused3 There is a buffet afterwards of a ton of desserts and turkey legs - probably some other things but we had late seating so we weren't hungry at all. I have already told my Mom that we are not eating dessert in the dining room this cruise so we can get cake at the buffet. :cake:

Personally I thought the Pirate party was lame. Not much of a story. The fireworks were great.

Yeah I saw a video on you tube and the show portion looks pretty lame, and I am usually all about cheesy Disney stuff. I am definitely interested in fireworks and food though.

We enjoyed the party. We dressed the part and realy got into it. Bear in mind that the party is more geared towards the kids, but it is what you make of it. We had a few drinks and I believe we were the only adults who actualy got into the party. Singing and dancing along.

We also skipped dessert to ensure we had room for the buffet. We gorged ourselves.

The fireworks are very cool, I been twice and never saw the show, only the fireworks. Too crowded to get near enough to watch. Love the turkey leg idea but never had one. I usually do late dinner so I'm not really hungery. They also have crepes w/ strawberry or chocolate and ice cream.

They also usually show Pirates of the Carribean on the big outdoor screen after the party/buffet. I always like lounging on the deck watching the movies.

Watching POC on the ship while you hear the crashing waves around you is really cool. :cool1:
