Does anyone dress up in pirate costume on pirate night. cruised last january for the first time but wasnt paying attention.
If so, what percent of the people do?

A few people dress up, depends on the cruise you are taking, if there are groups that all dress up together, etc.

Hubby wore shorts and tropical shirt, I wore capris and tropical shirt. We had eye patches and big gold earrings. Bandanas came with dinner. I had also got flashing pirate head pins from oriental trading. We looked great..and fit right in.

On our west coast cruise last month I saw a couple of little boys totally decked out in complete pirate outfits--they looked cute, but not sure how comfortable they were! My sis & I had hats, rings & eye patches we picked up at DL before we left. I thought it really increased the fun of the evening to have a couple of things on. The wait staff is all dressed up & we got some really cute pix of all of us. Bring a hat/eye patch, etc & join in the fun!

My family went on our 3rd cruise in May 2005. Pirate night was a first for us, so I dressed us all in tropical attire. However, we did get the boys (9 & 2) pirate gear for them to wear. My husband even went into it a little. My DS9 had the eyepatch & ear ring (as well as my husband) & he wore the bandana. My DS 2 wore a pirate bandana with goofy ears attached. Really cute. We all fit right in. I did see several people that dressed up & they go lots of compliments, so I say, if you feel like dressing up, go for it! :cool1: You will have lots of fun & I promise that no one will make fun of you! :goodvibes

We have done several DCL cruises and each cruise it seems more and more people are dressing up for pirates night. I think the word is getting out about it so more are participating all the time.
If your uncomfortable with a whole outfit, wear a pirate shirt and maybe an eye patch or bandana and you'll still be particiapting.
If you listen to the people after the party you'll hear lots of people saying, "Next time I'm dressing up too!!" That was so much fun. It truly was the best deck party we have ever been to on a DCL cruise.

We dressed up for Pirate Night during our Western cruise in April. At dinner there was only one other adult, but lots of kids in pirate gear pirate: , but at the deck party there seemed to be a few more people. I admit I did feel a bit embarrassed at first, but got a lot of compliments from other cruisers and CM's. Had a great time and would do it again. It does seem like more and more people are going to be getting dressed up.

I say go for it! Besides, you probably won't see the majority of those people ever again, so who cares  !

We are taking our first cruise next year and plan on dressing-up the whole family. Don't know what we are going to dress-up DD (18 mo by then) in but we were thinking Tinkerbell???

I figure where else can a grown man dress-up like a pirate not feel silly!!!! In the real world I am banker so I need to feel silly now and then.

Is there a pirate night on the 4day Wonder??

Yes there is a pirate night available now on every cruise. On the four day it is on Tuesday which is your CC day.

I am going to be on the thanksgiving 4 day cruise. It's a little different, we embark on Wed, Thurs is Nassau, Fri is at sea day and Sat is CC. I wonder when the pirate night will be. Anyone have an idea? My DH says he doesnt want to do Palo on Thanksgiving because we should be eating as a family. So other then Thurs I am trying to figure out what night to do Palo.

DD6 asked me the other day if she could just be Tink for pirate night. Maybe she's got the right idea. I still am having a tough time with this for me. What to wear?

I wore denim capris, white shirt, red sash (all of which I already had) w/my Goofy pirate hat/scarf from DL. I got a lot of compliments (I think that's what they were!). White shirt and red sash just screams "pirate", doncha think? It was easy. (Goofy hat came w/long, floppy ears and earrings!)

I saw several women with white peasant tops,, with the elastic neckline pulled down over the shoulders with a full skirt with some ragged edges, and patches sewn on. Some black fishnet stockings, lots of bulky necklaces and bracelets. And of course head bandanas are extremely popular. You will receive a red pirates bandana at dinner to wear if you dont have your own. Eye patches are very popular too. pirate: Some had black boots, but my luggage wouldnt hold that much clothes. I'm working on ideas for our next cruise for a outift too. Let us know if you have any ideas. :confused3
