If you are not dressing up in pirate costumes, what do most people wear? Are khaki shorts for men/boys on the "OK list" for pirate night? Or is it still cruise casual meaning long pants for the guys? (My DS13 would love to wear his shorts and pirate t-shirt to dinner just once!)

It looked like cruise casual to me. Up to you. I don't think anyone would really throw him out!

You just dress like you would if it were any other night for dinner. When we went (and by looking at other peoples pictures) they put Pirate bandannas at the tables for everyone to put on! Don't sweat the dress! And have fun!

Cruise casual is the dress. A pirate t-shirt with pants is fine. Bandanas are provided. Most kids throw on fake earings or patches. Everything is sold in the gift shop.

You mean everybody doesn't dress up? On our cruise it seemed a majority dressed up. Some more casual, but we had a great group with men wearing eyeliner, sabers, coins, flags, etc.

I'm sure you'll be fine.

They had some cool Pirates of the Caribbean stuff in the $1 section of Target, including a lanyard! They also had a child's dress up kit on clearance.

I miss Tropical night. :( I think pirate night is silly... but that's just me. I like finding great new tropical clothes in St. Maarten that day, to wear that night, so that is what I will be doing. :)

Shorts and tshirts are perfectly acceptable on pirate and/or tropical night.

That's what hubby wore before he had a costume.

There were not too many dressed as Pirates on our cruise. DH would LOVE to dress as a pirate though. pirate: We wore tropical wear and were lucky enough to get our picture with Pirate Mickey:thumbsup2 I like to people watch BUT I don't want to be the one being watched. I'd rather blend in. I don't know what we'll do in 2008. That is a while off. I will be looking for Pirate stuff between now and then.

One thing I did that was popular. I bought a lot of "glow" stuff at the $ Store. We all wore it and people asked where we got it.
