Pirate Museum in Nassau?

Anyone been? How far of a walk from the ship?

My DH and DD are somewhat obsessed with pirates...thought this would be a neat, short trip. I plan to stay on the ship the rest of the time it's in Nassau.

Its about a 15 min walk. I went to it in Nov of 2014 and it was nice! Very detailed high quality pirates display that reminds me of the Disney ride, and lots of cool artifacts. If you're a pirate lover it's well worth the $12 entry. The price might have changed but that's what I paid.

Feels like a 4-5 minute walk, once you reach the dock (it can be a 5-10 minute walk from the ship, down the pier, to the dock!). It's right there in the tourist area, and it is great. Fun staff, nice displays, neat souvenirs in the store. A family attraction IMHO!

It is not far at all from where the ship docks. We have been twice and felt safe walking there on our own. It is kind of cheesy, but we liked it and thought it was worth the admission. I would recommend it, especially if you are big pirate fans.

I really enjoyed it, it had a ton of material in it and some great artifacts including some great jewelry.

LOVED it! My husband and I went in May 2014. Very close to ship and really fun...very "Pirates of the Caribbean" and I was also impressed by the facts and history. We walked there, it was only a couple of blocks away.

Be aware that the museum may be closed for Bahamian holidays (as was the case when we tried to go there and happened to be docked on Bahamian labor day). It was literally the only thing we planned that day and our daughter was so disappointed. There were many tears.

I feel like I remember it being cash only, but don't hold me to that. If they don't get back to you, I'd probably take cash to be on the safe side.

I just got a reply and it said they take US and Bahamian cash, Discover, Mastercard and Visa.

They do take cards, at least they did when we were there.
