Here goes. We originally had a trip planned for January 2004. Our son would still be 10. We have had to reschedule for May 2004. He will then be 11 but just barely. Please understand that I have no intention of trying to sneak him on or anything, but on the cruise line they will sometimes allow bumping up or down if you are within a certain period of time of the birthday.

Important information. He is mildly developmentally disabled and enjoys being around younger children and their activities. He is also small sized so he would not dwarf the other 8-10 year olds.

So does Disney ever allow for an exception on the age?

I'm going to move this to our resorts board. The experts there will have some advice for you, I'm sure.

Tiiiigergirl, I think you should contact the GF directly and pose your question to them. They will be able to give you the definitive answer (and my fingers are crossed that it will be yes). The main number for the GF is (407)-824-3000. Ask them to transfer you to the person in charge of the children's programs at the resort. You could also FAX your question to them at (407)-824-3186. Let us know what you find out. Yo ho! Yo ho!

I think you should call them and explain. I'm sure they must make exceptions. I know they can't allow younger kids in some of the programs because of the insurance, but I can't see why they couldn't allow a slightly older child.

Hope you son can go & has a blast!! My dd is scheduled to go in a couple of weeks. She's 4.5.

Good luck!!
