Have any of you done the cruise on the pirate ship? Not the Disney one. One is Captain Memos and there is another.

I think it is around 20 for kids and 30 for adults. Includes beverages.

I am trying to decide if this is worth doing. We are going to the beach for a day on our trip. It looks neat. Looks like a pirate ship and they play games and stuff..

here is the website:

http://www.captmemo.com/

I have not done the ship, but I did see one of them from John's Pass. I think this is where it leaves from. It looked like everyone is having a great time, the music was loud and there were many families on board. It looked like something I'd like to try in the future. I did not see anyone looking like they were having a bad time.. adults nor kids!

I guess I will have to be the 1st on these boards to try it and tell everyone if it is good or bad

my boys saw the website and really want to go

Please do let us know how it was. We were going to do this on our last trip to Clearwater Beach and just never got around to it. Captain Memo's ship leaves from Clearwater Beach. We have seen it moored there right along the main drag through Clearwater Beach (the ressies booth is there too) and it looks really neat - just like you would imagine a pirate ship to look like.

Have fun!

I would love some feedback on these, looks like there is two options

1) Captain Memo's out of Clearwater

2) Pirate Ship at St. John's Pass

Are these something that adults would enjoy?

would adults enjoy it? maybe, but I would say it is more geared toward kids or people with kids. If you just want to go out on a boat ride, there might be better ones for adults.

When we got there, they gave the kids a paper hat and a pop gun and took your pic(extra charge). The kids ran around a bit shooting each other. Other things they did were face painting, a pirate story/scavenger hunt, squirt gun fight, dancing. There were unlimited soda and beer(wine?) on board. They blew a little cannon off at the end. We saw a few dolphins.

It was a relaxing afternoon after being at Disney for a week.

They also have a sunset cruise- that may be more adult oriented. It was full when we went there, so we went on the afternoon one.

we want to stay at clearwater and do 1 day at Disney, any hints on hotels (suites?) and exactly how far is it i have stared at the map but it's hard to guess it looks pretty maybe too far.also is the gulf nice? Daytona was great and people keep telling us the gulf is dirty any suggestions....thanks

stayed in Olrando for most of the trip and just went to the beach for a couple of days. We stayed in Treasure Island. I think it was a holiday inn or best western. Paid about $70 in Oct. It was not the nicest place I have ever stayed at, but it was right on the beach. It had a small living/kitchen area and a separate bedroom.

There are 5 of us, so I really wanted the extra room, otherwise you could probably stay somewhere nicer for the same amt of $.

I did not think the gulf was dirty. We did not really swim- just went on the beach and looked for shells.
