I got the boys on a pirate cruise in August from the Grand Floridian! I tried to get them on one from our resort (CBR) but it was booked on the days I needed.

Just wondering if anybody's children have done this one and if they liked it?? Any reviews are greatly appreciated!!!

I booked this cruise for my DS6 last year and he loved it!! I think a little time w/out mom and dad makes them feel special and honestly I think it's one of the best deals at WDW. For around $40 they get a special adventure around the resorts, a fun lunch, pirate "treasure", the mickey ears bandana and you get a few hours without the kids!:lmao: Anyway, my son spent the rest of our trip pointing out all of the spots they stopped to chase bad pirates and look for the treasure..it was fun to see how excited it made him all week long. He still talks about it all the time! I'm sure your kids will love it. Here's some pics....

My DD7 did it last year and absolutely loved it. Think it was fun that they went round by the MK and the resorts they could see from the monorail. Enjoy your 2 hours of peace!

My kids did it last Feb and both loved it! They still talk about it over a year later and want to go back again.

My girls (10 and 6) just did it last week, and it was AWESOME! The booking staff told my travel agent it's the best one out of the 4, and while we haven't done the other three, I have to agree.

The "crew" is hysterical, and they took AWESOME care of the kids! My girls came back with grins a mile wide, and talked about it non-stop all day!

My kids did it in December 2007 and loved it. They were then 10 and 4.

I see you just did it last week. Did they still give the kids the red striped Mickey ears bandannas or have they switched to the black/skull fabric bandannas?
I had heard rumors this was part of their cost saving.

Thanks!

They got black skull ones, but the girls still loved them! I don't think it made a lick of difference to the enjoyment factor!

My kids have done this four times since 2003. We've never gotten the "ears" - only bandannas. The bandannas have had variation, they aren't always the same. So I don't think getting rid of the ears is part of cost savings - it seems to be luck.

We've done it enough - so yeah, the kids like it. They did it (I think) at 4 and 5, at 6 and 7, and at 7 and 8 and just this year at 9 and 10. They did age out of it a few years ago - my son was eight when he had the trip that he came back and didn't enjoy - he's done it once again since then, but only because his four year old cousin wanted to do it. The sweet spot seems to be the five to seven age.

We went last Sept and my DS6 LOVED it. He was a bit apprehensive at first, when we were describing/prepping him for it, but once we got there and they got him geared up, they made him feel so secure and excited about it. We are going back again this Sept and he is already begging us to do it again!!.

I believe the stated minimum age is 4, right? Is that a firm rule or could I get my potty trained 3 1/2 year on along with his 5 year old brother?

My ds went in 4/07. He loved it! he was 6yo at time. Tried to book my kids for any of the cruises in 6/09(we r also at the CBR). All cruises booked:(

My then 4 year old and my 9 year old did it(I made my 9 year old dd do it to keep an eye on her brother)
And they BOTH loved it. It was funny for us too- our room looked out over the seven seas lagoon and we could hear them singing from the balcony- and they all waved to us as they sailed on by.

It was great fun. And I agree a bargain!

My 5 and 9 year old sons just did the pirate cruise at the Grand Floridian last Wed. They both absolutely loved it. They couldn't stop talking about it.
