My DS is 4yrs. I think he would really enjoy the pirate cruise, but I am worried because he would have to ride it alone. DD isn't old enough. What are your thoughts on this...would you like your DC ride alone or not? I should add that he is VERY friendly. He will walk up to strangers at the store or anywhere and start talking to them (yea - the daily stranger talks don't seem to be paying off yet)...He is in preschool too and does very well.

What do you think?

I think it's great.

When my son was 5 we had him on the Pirate Cruise. He made friends easily while they were passing out the scarf hats (and putting their names on their heads). The CM's were terrific with the kids and my son really felt that they were looking for treasure. There is a planned surprise that will also interest the kids.....

We rented mice while DS was "cruising" so we watched the pontoon go from island to island.

He had a ball! He loved it. Then, when it was done. DH and DS went on the mice for a leisurely ride on Seven Seas Lagoon.

My son went by himself when he was 5 and they paired him with a buddy. He had a great time.

Thanks guys - I will look into booking it for him!
:thanks:

Go for it! My Dd is 4 and is going on her own in Oct. She will have a ball, sure they will pair the kids up anyway.

My DD went on by herself when she was 5 and had a great time. About the talking to strangers bit.... my DD is/was vaery talkative and friendly and our stranger rule was You can talk to anyone you want you just can't go anywhere with them!! She has grown up to be a very confident, gets along with others(esp adults), always gets picked to do the introductory speeches, student council president etc. So let him keep talking!

Well - the pirate cruise is all booked for the days I had available during our vacation :sad2:...BUT I did book DS for the Sassagoula River Adventure. :thumbsup2 Apparently they go on a boat and follow clues to find the jester? Does anyone know more about this one? One HUGE perk is it leaves and returns to our resort (POR) so that is GREAT! Not much travel then!

If anyone here has done this cruise - do the kids get anything like the bandana ears they get on the pirates cruise? The CM I spoke with when I booked it wasn't sure. They get the loot bag...

Thanks for all your help!

I REALLY like that rule! Thanks! I hate to say a few of the "strangers" my DS has started talking to have made me feel like a crap mom. One lady actually looked at me while speaking to my DS saying, "I'm a stranger...you shouldn't be talking to me...your mom should tell you not to talk to strangers." I will have to implement the rule you spoke of! It sounds like just the thing! Thanks for the advice!
