Pirate and Princess Party 2009

I called today to try and get tickets and the CM told me they didn't go on sale today as expected, likely because of the new promotion. She didn't know when they would be going on sale.

the Pirate & Princess Special Events page is still down, and it's not even listed on the events at all anymore.

I called about the DDP question and the very chatty CM who had my travel dates of 2/1 - 2/4/09 in front of her said "Oh, are you planning on going to the Pirates and Princess Party?" I told her I read that it starts later in the month. She said they are changing the schedule and will release the official dates in the near future and to keep checking the Disney website. I told her if Disney has a P&PP while I'm there that I WILL buy tickets for it and be there. I asked her to tell that to whomever would have any influence on those dates!

I just booked my behind the magic tour and while I was on the phone asked about P&P Party. She told me to call back in two days. So maybe...

I hope they add some dates. I will be there for MK weekend and would love to go again. LOVED it last May. So worth the money!

Ok so wondering if anyone has heard anything at all about these parties?

I just went to WDW.com just to check on the March 09 calendar to see if anything was listed for the parties. My heart broke as now it lists the times for the parks differently. There are no 7pm closing times, where before I know on March 20th it was listed as closing at 7pm.

I am not sure if they did away with the parties or what? In fact when I click on the special events the Pirate, Princess parties arent even listed.

I am so bummed. I even planned ADR's around the hope there would be a party on the 20th.

I haven't heard anything either, but when I checked on the date that I thougt would have a party, it now shows wishes when it didn't before. I am very much hearbroken.

Have any panel members been to the Pirates and Princess party? Are the reg hrs for MK busier/slower when the Pirates and Princess party is scheduled for same day? MK closes early, so I am wondering if we should pick a diff park, unless crowds are light?

I've actually heard from the Mouse that there are not any Mickey's Pirate and Princess Parties scheduled in 2009, so you won't have to worry about altering your plans because of the party.

Doesn't sound good.

Wow that is something about the Mom's panel. All Ears had it listed that the party dates were already set. Interesting that they are incorrect. Usually All Ears has correct information.

I guess we will just have to wait it out. I went to one this past May and had a wonderful time. It was just my husband and I and we were hoping to bring our children this March.

It would be a shame if they do decide not to do the parties this spring.

Here is another entry from the Moms Panel at Disney-

"We have been told that the Pirate and Princess Parties that had previously been scheduled for the first half of 2009 have now been canceled. If you have already purchased tickets to this event, you should call Disney at 407-W-DISNEY to inquire about refunds."

Those are the same dates that were posted on other sites. Nobody knows for sure if there is going to be P&P in 2009 (but it doesn't look good, at least for the earlier dates).

When I asked my TA about the parties she said they looked like they were not going to happen.
It is probably due to cuts that everyone is making.

What a shame because I thought the party was great and it seemed like a good way for Disney to make extra money on the side from their regular stuff.
